    E1 Voice and Data Over IPThe IPTube G4 E1encapsulates a full or fractional E1circuits into IP packets. E1 Over IP connections provide forthe interconnection of PBXs, Cellular equipment and Telecom

    Switches via LANs, WANs, MANs, IP Satellite, xDSL, Cable andWireless Ethernet.

    Transparent InterconnectTheIPTube G4 E1'stransparent operation maintains theproprietary signaling required to support PBX features suchas call conferences, call forwarding, caller ID and SS7. Legacyphone equipment investment is preserved.

    Signaling SupportPRI ISDN, SS7, ESF, D4, SLC-96, Proprietary out of band, androbbed bit signaling are supported. Transparent support forData, Modem or Fax. Voice quality is not compromised.

    TheIPTube G4 E1ships with one to four E1 interfaces andone 10/100 BaseT Ethernet Interface. Optional integrated5 port QOS/VLAN/Rate Limiting Layer-2 Ethernet switch isavailable.

    The Ethernet Switch Option provides transparent LANbridging, user data bandwidth and access control throughrate limiting and port-based VLAN filtering and tagging.

    TheIPTube G4 E1provides organizations with the ability to interconnect their existing phone systems over flexible

    bandwidth lines that are used to carry data, voice, and video. The Voice Only Leased Line Toll charges assessed by longdistance and local carriers are eliminated or dramatically reduced by transporting voice traffic across packet-switchedinfrastructure. The following organizations incur significant recurring monthly costs for rigid-bandwidth leased lines used onlyfor the interconnection of PBXs and Telecom switches.

    E1 PRIVATE LINE SERVICES OVER IP

    LANsThe most compelling option for the interconnection ofE1 based systems is when it can be accomplished over aLocal Area Network. The deployment of Fiber based LANSsuch as Gigabit Ethernet, provides organizations with highperformance and high quality bandwidth that is especiallywell suited for the interconnection of PBXs and Switches.

    WANsWide Area Networks that have sufficient bandwidth andQuality of Service provisioning result in very significant costsavings especially for Multi-Site Corporations. TheIPTubeG4 E1-Cwith lossless data compression, detects idle andredundant data within each voice circuit resulting in asmuch as 56 to 1 bandwidth savings.

    The SuperTube option multiplexes four E1 circuits onto one IP packet stream. The SuperTube Sized IPTube reduces theencapsulation overhead bandwidth and the packet frequency by 75%. The substantial reduction of packet frequency enablesnetwork packet processors, such as wireless Ethernet radios and WAN routers/bridges, that can be overstressed with the lowlatency packet processing to reliably support the extension of real time circuits over their packet networks.

    Assured Delivery ProtocolIn order to assure high quality communications over linkswith intermittent or noisy performance, such as Wireless orBroadband over Power Line, the IPTube G4 E1employsEngages robust Assured Delivery Protocol with the followingbenefits:

    Packet out of sequence detection and re-sequencing

    Duplicate skipping Lost packet retransmission with congured delay.

    Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol - DHCPThe IPTube G4 E1can be configured to obtain its InternetProtocol network parameters: IP Address, Subnet Mask, De-fault Gateway, DNS; from a local DHCP server.

    Domain Name AddressingIPTube G4 E1can be configured to use a Domain Name forthe remote IPTube in place of a xed IP address. Supportsmobile multi service provider installations with ease.

    Dynamic DNSIPTubes can be congured to register their IP address withDynamic Domain Name Servers for discovery by the IPTube atthe other end of the E1 circuit. DDNS support combined withDHCP make installations Name-based which is very easy tosetup and maintain when compared to Static IP addressing.

    Secure Socket Shell - SSHEngages Secure Socket Shell, which is based upon industryproven Open SSH and FIPS 140 approved Open SSL version2.0, provides secure encrypted communications betweenSSH clients such as OpenSSH, SecureCRT, and PuTTY and theIPTubes Command Line Interface.

    SNMPThe IPTube G4 E1 is able to be fully managed with SNMPvia standard and private MIBs. Large scale deployments ofIPTubes with centralized management have made SNMP sup-port a priority. SNMP Traps for error events enable proactiveservice fault isolation.

    Protector OPTION -PROThe protector option utilizesthe Ethernet Switch portETH1 as a redundant path forthe interconnection of the IPencapsulated E1 data.

    The PRO Option is configured toAlways-On, or with Switch-Overcriteria.

    The IPTube G4 E1is available with a four port 10/100 Eth-ernet QoS switch integrating a high-performance switchingfabric with four priority queues. Advanced features include802.1p/IPv4/IPv6 traffic classification, full IEEE 802.1Q VLAN,RMON, SNMP, Port Monitoring and Layer 2 firewall.

    QoS determined by destination MAC address, port ID, IEEE802.1p and multimedia traffic tags, IPv4 Type of Service

    (TOS), and Differentiated Services (DiffServ).

    Rate LimiterThe Ethernet switch Ingress and/or Egress Rate Limiter optionenables the reservation of the bandwidth for time-sensitiveE1 Over IP real time connections.

    Required for applications where the LAN traffic can exceedthe WAN bandwidth required by the E1 over IP/Ethernetapplication. The data rate limit range is 128 kilobits to 64

    Megabits in binary increments.
