IPR has tested a commercial oil discovery in its North Ras QattaraConcession in the Western Desert of Egypt. IPR successfully drilled, testedand completed the Cretaceous Alamein Dolomite in the North Ras Qattara-3X (Ie 39-1) exploratory well. The well was drilled in the west-central portion( ) p y pof Block II, adjacent to IPR’s Alamein-Yidma Development Lease, to a totaldepth of 10,262 ft. The well encountered approx. 100 ft of oil pay in theAlamein Dolomite (AD). The AD discovery represents the first commercialdiscovery in this area of the Alamein basin of the Western Desert, south ofthe Alamein and Qattara Ridge. Ie39-1 tested up to 542 BOPD (41ºAPIgravity) on a 32/64 in. choke. IPR has submitted an application for adevelopment lease for this portion of the North Ras Qattara Concession

IPR was an exhibitor at the SPE Annual Technical Conference & Exhibition(ATCE) held in Dallas, Texas, October 9-12, 2005. The theme of this year’sATCE was “Knowledge Shared.” More than 380 presentations were made in 76sessions including a technical presentation made by IPR’s representative Dr.Sameh Macary entitled “Can Large Domain of Uncertainty be Reduced for TwoOne-Well Fault Blocks.”

SyriaSyriaSyriaSyriaIPR was recently awarded the Integrated Reservoir Engineering Study of the Jibissa Field by the Syrian Petroleum Company(SPC), Damascus, Syria. The objectives of the Jibissa study are to develop a geological model, investigate the mechanism ofreservoir behavior, improve production, maximize oil recovery utilizing enhanced recovery methods and revise the current

operational development plan. Training and manpower development will follow completion of the study. The award of thisstudy continues the long business relationship developed between IPR and SPC since 1994. The Jibissa study willcommence in early 2006.

Multi-Disciplinary Integrated Study for Redevelopment of the Jorajan Oil Fieldand Adjoining Areas, India for Oil India Limited (OIL). Testing for InversionProcessing of the 3D seismic data was conducted and, based on positive results, was approved by OIL. Gross and net thickness maps are being developed for thevarious reservoirs. Special log analysis methods were developed to aid in theinterpretation of wells with significant washouts. SEM analyses were completed onfour fairly fine-grained samples. Jordan. A G&G Workshop was held in Cairo in October 2005 between members of theIPR Project Team from both Dallas and Cairo and several senior NPC staff. Itemsreviewed included: seismic interpretation - including minor faulting, geologic mapping andmodeling, petrophysical interpretation and preliminary gas-in-place values. Following theworkshop, a reservoir simulation model has been developed and production historymatched. Utilizing the reservoir simulation model, forecasts of future performance forvarious field development schemes are being derived.

HVJOC CNV Reservoir Engineering Study was successfully completed inrecord time. This study included (1) geomodel upscaling; (2) fluidcharacterization; (3) pressure test analysis; (4) lift curve generation; and (5)prediction of production and injection profiles. IPR presented the results ofthe project to HVJOC in Ho Chi Minh City on November 2, 2005. AWorkshop on Volatile Oil was also conducted for HVJOC. An extension ofthe project was requested by HVJOC and was performed in November toinvestigate the effect of different well specifications on recovery.
