iPads for GPISD Students

We are happy to provide your child with a district iPad to engage in the online learning their teacher provides. We have several steps for you to use the iPad at home on the Internet.

(The iPad might have a Passcode. If so, the passcode is your 6 digit student ID.) Steps to log into Content Keeper (the district filter)

1. Tap on Settings, Then WiFi2. Choose the name of your home WiFi and tap It. Enter the

password for your home WiFi3. Tap on the Safari or Chrome browser4. The Content Keeper login window will appear

(if it doesn’t, navigate to the websitewww.gpisd.org)

5. Username: your studentID6. Password: Complex Password

Most apps need the Internet to work, so please log in to Content Keeper every time you use the iPad. You must log in to Content Keeper before you can install apps from the Self Service apps. If your iPad goes to sleep you may need to follow the above steps again to reconnect.

Grand Prairie ISD Optional Mobile Device Insurance Coverage - Student

2020 - 2021 School YearGrand Prairie ISD uses Instructional Technology to prepare and inspire all students for life-long success by teaching the skills, knowledge, and behaviors students will need as responsible citizens in the global community.

Student Receives Apple iPadApple Charger and CableProtective iPad Case or Logitech Rugged Keyboard CaseSome campus/programs also receive a laptop and charger

The GPISD device is issued at no cost to the student. The student/parent will have to pay for the full cost of any repairs or replacement due to damage or loss, while the devices are in the student’s possession, unless insurance is purchased as outlined below.

Optional Insurance Coverage• If the student is issued one device, insurance is $20• If the student is issued two devices, insurance is $30

Insurance coverage begins August 2020 and ends Summer 2021. Insurance may be purchased once per school year from August 10, 2020 until October 16, 2020.

Parents may purchase insurance to cover a portion of the cost to repair or replace the iPad/case or laptop in the event of accidental damage, loss, or theft.

Terms of Coverage 1. Glass Breakage – Repair or replace once for accidental damage to the

glass screen.2. Accidental Damage – Repair or replace twice for any other accidental

damage other than the glass screen.3. Accidental Loss – If the student accidentally loses a device, GPISD will

pay for 50% of the replacement amount, and the student or parent/guardian will pay the remaining 50%. Without the insurance, the parent would be responsible for the entire amount.

2020 - 2021 School Year4. Theft – If a device is stolen, GPISD will replace it at no cost to the student

if a police report is filed by the student or parent/guardian with a copy of the police report given to the campus.

Please note, that if a device is damaged or lost either intentionally or recklessly, the student will be charged 100% of the cost to replace or repair it even if insurance was purchased.

Repair Costs

• It is recommended that all repairs be made by GPISD Technology personnel ortheir representatives.

para el estudiante si el estudiante o padre/tutor presenta un reporte policial con una copia del reporte de policía entregado a la tecnología del campus.

Tenga en cuenta que, si un dispositivo se daña o se pierde de forma intencional o imprudente, se le cobrará al estudiante 100% del costo para reemplazarlo orepararlo incluso si se compró el seguro.
