Introduction to Resilience Programme
Mandi Riley and Natalie Moore
The Amy Winehouse Foundation was set up in 2011 on what would have been Amy’s 28th birthday.
Mitch and Jane Winehouse wanted to carry on Amy’s legacy of helping young people achieve their full potential
Foundation is committed to helping young people make positive choices in their lives
To inform and educate young people about the effects of drug and alcohol misuse and support those seeking help for their problems and those needing on-going support in their recovery
To provide support for those most vulnerable including those who are disadvantaged through circumstance or who are at high risk of substance misuse.
Support the personal development of disadvantaged young people through music
1. Life Story Share- delivered at the start of the programme by Mandi or Volunteer to first engage young people
2. Classroom Workshops- delivered by Volunteer with support from Mandi and Natalie. Sessions based around self-esteem, peer pressure and risky behaviour
3. Skills for Change Sessions- delivered by Natalie, 6 weeks of sessions based around Healthy Eating, Drugs, Alcohol and Sexual Health Awareness
4. Teacher Training- delivered by Natalie and Mandi up to 3 times per school year, at the school’s convenience, to explain programme and encourage signposting
5. Parents Evening Sessions- delivered by Natalie and Mandi, as and when needed to support Parents/Carers of students taking part in Resilience Programme
