Organizing Committee
Dear AquaRES workshop participants,
It is a real pleasure for us to welcome you in Brussels in the context of the AquaRES project and workshop.
This project, which started in May 2014, involves the VLIZ (Flanders Marine Data and Information Centre), the ULB (Université Libre de Bruxelles) and the RBINS (Royal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences).
Its goal is to ensure and improve the quality, interoperability and public availability of three major Global Species Directories (WoRMS, RAMS and FADA).
This leaflet covers several topics related to the meeting, namely a day-‐‑by-‐‑day planning, useful information on transport, workshop venue, hotel and meals (including the group dinner). At the end of the document, you will also find a list of participants including their expertise, email address and picture.
The first day of this workshop will be dedicated to a general introduction as well as two sessions covering the taxonomic groups which will be subject of the workshop. The second day will mainly focus on the IT tools developed by AquaRES team (e.g. tools for taxonomic checklist or tools for validate species distribution) and associated break-‐‑out sessions. Finally, during the last day, we will concentrate on forthcoming work and general conclusions.
We thank you again for your participation and wish a very fruitful and productive AquaRES meeting.
