FOUNDER PROFILES

Gebane Engineering Services is a fully integrated engineering services firm with a proud history of completing high quality engineering projects, specialising in the power and rail infrastructure sectors.

The founding of the firm in 2007 brought together the engineering skills of Mandla Ngcobo and the business acu-men of Pumza Ndlotyeni. The founders have since focused their energy on building a solid reputation as a supplier that customers can count on.

MANDLA NGCOBO (Managing Member/ Projects Manager) - Pr. Tech Eng. (Elec) Dip. Eng. Bus.Mng (Warwick), Dip. Proj Mng (Natal), SAIEE.

Mandla is a professional engineering technician with extensive experience in the electricity supply industry that dates back to the early 1990s. He completed his Engineering Business Management Diploma at the University of Warwick, and Diploma in Project Management at what was then Technikon Natal.

Mandla’s career started in 1993 when he joined Eskom as a trainee technician before working his way up to management level.

Mandla is a member of the SAIEE and also registered as a professional member of the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA).

PUMZA NDLOTYENI (Managing Member/ Financial Accounts Manager) - Bcom Fin Acc, Cert PM, Bus Mngnt Prog.

Pumza’s role encompasses the financial, human resources and administration aspects of the business. She has a keen eye on the business processes to ensure that operations run in a manner that supports the business liquidity and solvency.

Pumza holds a Bcom Financial Accounting degree and has attained numerous professional development certifications. She is a member of the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers & Accountants and is a member of the Business Women’s Association for South Africa.

She is passionate about community work and giving back to society. Pumza has been involved in various community development projects, including sponsoring an orphanage for children with special needs in Alexandra Township.

Beyond the substation, Gebane Engineering Services performs a range of critical functions in the maintenance of distribution and transmission infrastructure. Specialist capabilities include a team certified to perform Gloving, Stick and Bare Live work on lines up to 132kV.

Completing the journey down the electricity value chain, Gebane also undertakes maintenance and new installations of suitable electrical works.

Logistics and transportation infrastructureA natural progression for Gebane Engineering Services from working in the electrical infrastructure sector is to projects in rail infrastructure. Oil Purification Plant HireIt is no secret that maintenance is the key to keeping crucial infrastructure operating at optimal capacity.

Serving that need, Gebane Engineering Services has invested in a state-of-the-art, mobile Oil Purification and Vacuum System needed to purify transformer oil.
