IntroductionIn this globalized era, women plays an equally important role as men in attaining social, economic as well as political development. For instance, the enrolment and academic achievements of girls and women in many positions are surpassing the men especially in health and education services. For example, more and more women are enrolled in job like nurse, medical assistant, pharmacist, teacher, lecturer and etc. Besides that, women nowadays also has been actively involved in politics and several other national initiatives.Latest developmentAccording to the latest development of Womens Rights Act discussed in the eleventh Rancangan Malaysia; the government has come up with some changes and improvement in the womens right policies which are required to cater with the demands from the rapid developments of our country. From my point of view, the biggest step made by the government in addressing womens right is the forming of the Ministry of Women and Family Development in 2001. This ministry was created to handle issues on women specifically in order to raise the physique of women in the country.Despite focusing on the programs and policies involving the government only, several programs also involves the company under civil that were encouraged by the government to use the persuasive approach through Malaysian Code on Corporate Governance 2012. This approach is to encourage companies to elect and put more women as the Member of the Board Director.
