• Sidi Ali Ben Aoun is located in the south-west of the Sidi Bouzid governorate and south of Bir El Hafey Awled Mnasser and west of Hassi Frid of the Kasserine governorate. It is situated on about 300 kilometers to the South of Tunis, 45 kilometers to capital of the Governorate of Sidi Bouzid, and covers an area of 604 km2. The population of Sidi Ali Ben Aoun delegation is 28,214 inhabitants.

• The income sources of Sidi Ali Ben Aoun population is based on agriculture. Mainly arboriculture, livestock and planting vegetables.

• The most important achievements WATER SUM project in Sidi Ali Ben Aoundelegation in the field of water are the following points:• For the first time is established a local planning team which includes all the stakeholders

in the water department and meetings were established periodically to discuss water issues in a participatory manner;

• Through the Distance Learning Platform, all members of local planning team, have now a better understanding of water issues;

• Through workshops with representatives of other communities, a local planning team has now, large informations of the various experiments to the water governance;

• Working on the formulation of a strategic approach to accomplish projects that addressed the problems of water with the help WATER SUM project.

How the WGS Initiative can contribute to water, stability and growth in Sidi Ali Ben Aoun delegation:

• The community of Sidi Ali Ben Aoun Delegation aspires to achieve the stability and growth in the field of water as the rest of the communities, but the high financial investments related to the extension of water networks and completion of sanitation to better use of water resources of growth and stability in the society. In this context, the initiative WGS can help in:

• Designing better projects and sequential planning to adopt;

• Provide new sources of finance for the water project in delegation;

• Provide an opportunity to learn about other communities in the field of water governance.
