Role play with a friend, family member, colleague, classmate, connection or professional answering
commonly-asked interview questions.

skills.If the hiring manager does not like you, it is highly unlikely that you will get the job. People want to

8. Answer the question asked. Don’t be evasive.
Don’t be a politician and evade answering the direct question. Political campaigns have a number of
relevant parallels to a job search campaign, but this is not one of them. Answer the question.

9. Be specific. Don’t talk in generalities.

that will give you insight in terms of how the hiring manager is thinking).
Example Questions:
What is the most important skill area you are looking for?
What do you need your chosen candidate to be able to do in the first 90 days on the job?
What are some immediate challenges and/or opportunities your department and this position will
be facing?

11. Indicate interest in the job and say “Thank You”.
Don’t underestimate the power of gratitude – say “Thanks for the opportunity”

Send within 24 hours of the interview! Send to all people with whom you interviewed.

If the company says, “we will let you know in a week”, then contact them after that time period
