What is an Interview?

About 30 seconds long Always Informative to you and them An audition...yours...and theirs It is a CHANCE, not a guarantee, of ANYTHING Your opportunity to see the world differently No idea, but each one is different from the next Your chance to ask for the job Never a waste of time

DO NOT LIE...EVER...ABOUT...ANYTHING Learn how to say “I don't know, but” instead Know yourself, your personality, your needs and

desires and then look for them in prospects Be yourself. Yes, it is a cliche, but it is true too If you get a bad feeling from meeting someone,

listen to your instinct and look elsewhere Be decisive, open and upfront about your needs

That's it, 30 seconds to impress Think Twitter response types but be friendly

Clothes make the man or woman So does hair, makeup, earrings, jewelry or tattoos

Confidence is good, but not arrogance You have knowledge, you want to learn how to use it

You are “on” before you walk in the building Remember to be nice to EVERYONE you see

Be a Boy/Girl Scout and Be Prepared Know why you want to work for them Understand what you offer and explain it to them Ask good GREAT questions!

Why? Because their own staff doesn't! It's your job until you lose it, don't lose it Before you leave...ASK for the job!

Ask if anything will stop you from getting it If they ask when can you start, smile, and ask if

you got the job and what happens next Thank them for their time You are still “on” until you leave their premises
