Sail Away with FBC Augusta May 8-17, 2020

Leave Augusta Friday, May 8, travel to Cape Canaveral, Visit the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex on Saturday, May 9 Sail on the Harmony of the Seas (Royal Caribbean) on Sunday, May 10. Cruise ports include Coco Cay, (Royal Caribbean’s private island in The Bahamas) Puerto Costa Maya (Mexico), Roatan (Honduras), Cozumel (Mexico) plus two days at sea. Scholarships—Deadline Approaching! Through endowments of First Baptist Church, the Education and Scholarship Committee awards the following scholarships:

Kennedy Scholarship for seniors in high school and/or currently enrolled university or college students who are church members. See the application packet for additional requirements.

The Sacred Music Scholarship for members of First Baptist Church who have demonstrated musical talent and are leaning towards a career in sacred music. See the application packet for additional requirements.

FBC Seminary Scholarship for members of First Baptist Church who plan to pursue seminary degrees. See the application for additional requirements.

All scholarship packets must be completed and returned by June 15, 2019. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted. Summer Schedule begins May 15!

As we enter the summer, we begin our abbreviated schedule for Wednesday evenings. Children and youth do not meet weekly, but have various pro-gram opportunities throughout the summer. Check the church calendar and ministry area updates for these activities.

Activities Ministry

Faith & Family night @ The Green Jackets game - Saturday, June 15th Tickets are $8 and can be purchased in the front office.

Family Promise (FP) June 16-23, 2019 FP is a program for families that need a place to live while working or going to school so that they can eventually have their own place to live. We will be hosting and providing all needs to 3 families with children June 16-23, 2019. We are in need of volunteers for meal hosting, night hosting, weekend hosting, and volunteers to setup Sunday June 16 and take down Sunday June 23 at 1:30p each day. Food Drive is May 19th - Our needs this May are cereal, jelly, can tomatoes, corn and green beans. Your donations are appreciated.

Preschool and Children Ministry

VBS 2019 June 3-7 promises to be

OUT OF THIS WORLD! At To Mars and Beyond VBS, your students will become

Voyagers and discover how to serve God and God’s mission for their lives. During their week, Voyagers rotate with their Space Mission Team through Bible Story, Craft, REC and Snack Stations, Music and Science Stations. Interactive Bible lessons reveal Power Launcher (key learnings) to equip them for an active life with God. Your Voyagers will also discover our Vector Verse (Bible memory verse), Ephesians 3:20. Along the way, the Voyagers will hear about our mission project and respond to a call for action. Registration opens April 1st. 3 year olds must be 3 by 9/1/18. 3 year old class is FULL!

We are in need of water bottles for crafts! Please drop water bottles off in Preschool and Children’s Ministry office in the Daniel Building. Questions? Contact Leah Galey at 706-262-1045.
