The location of the School is the “Federico II” University

Policlinic Hospital (via Sergio Pansini, 5 – click here for the Google Maps position), in the

hospital area of the city of Naples, easily reachable by

public transportation (subway line 1, Policlinico station, and

buses from the city center).

Policlinico Campus

The large campus, built between 1960 and 1972, comprises more than 20

buildings - each one with wards, classrooms, offices, libraries – but also a bar,

canteen, bank office, shops, and green areas.

Medicine and Surgery Curriculum

The Medicine and Surgery major is structured into six years, 12 semesters

(called cicli, cycles), and 36 integrated courses, each one with a specific

number of credits (CFU, Crediti Formativi Universitari – University

Educational Credits). 1 CFU corresponds to 25 hours of total work for the

student (for clinical practices, 20 hours of practical activity and 5 of

personal reworking).

1st cycle: 1st year, 1st semester

2nd cycle: 1st year, 2nd semester

3rd cycle: 2nd year, 1st semester

4th cycle: 2nd year, 2nd semester…

The preclinical basic sciences taught during the early years provide the

knowledge of biological sciences aimed at the understanding of the human

body’s structure and functionality in normal health conditions.

The strictly-speaking clinical and methodological medical practice is taught

during the following years through extensive use of tutorial didactics with a

practical approach to problem-solving.

How can I fill out my Learning agreement?

Theoretical subjects

It is possible to combine activities from different years;

If you plan to stay just one semester, you can choose subjects taught

during that period only;

Write the activities’ name in Italian with the related code and number of

credits;

It is possible to choose single modules exceptionally. For their contents,

always refer to the «father» integrated course (for example, Malattie

cutanee e veneree is a module of the Immunologia Clinica e Allergologia,

Malattie cutanee e veneree, Chirurgia plastica integrated exam).

How can I fill out my Learning agreement?

Practical activities

Clinical practices can be carried out from October to July, without any semester restriction;

If you choose an integrated course, its AFP are already included, so you don’t have to write them separately;

Example:

In case of single modules or single AFP (without choosing the related integrated course), you can specify them with their own code:

It is possible to combine AFP and Clinical Clerkships, even if related to the same subject:

Class schedule

General 2020/21 Class Organization : first semester classes from October to December 2020, second semester classes from March to May 2021.

Cycles’ Didactical Organization (click)*: There are different classes for the same course (called canali, channels), according to the personal matriculation number that identifies each student. Matriculation number and PIN code are provided to you by our International Relations Office when you register at our University.

Canale A (Matricole pari ) = Even matriculation numbers (e.g. 0001/12344)

Canale B (Matricole dispari) = Odd matriculation numbers (e.g. 0001/12579)

The attendance of the courses is compulsory for 70% of the total amount of hours (only 30% of absence is permitted).

Exams can be taken only after the complete and correct attendance of the related course. The evaluation is written and oral or oral only, depending on the subject.

There are three sessions of exams provided (January-February-March, May-June-July, September-October-November). It is possible to make a reservation for a maximum of two dates per session.

To book yourself, please send an email to erasmed@unina.it writing:

• Exam name (according to your Learning agreement)

• Exam date

The deadline for reservations is seven days before the chosen date. No requests can be accepted afterward.

The final evaluation will be registered in your personal career digitally. Do not forget to bring with you your matriculation number and PIN (personal code that allows your identification and registration).

In Italian Universities, grades are given on the basis of 30 points. When the student’s performance is considered outstanding, a laude can be added by the commission. The minimum passing grade is 18/30.

University.

A final attendance certificate will be provided to you by our

International Relations Office.
