PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
"Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable" (SDG 11).
This urgent measure - among others - of the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations, guides the thematic itinerary and practical experiences of this module.
Its design seeks to study the anthropological aspects of habitability and historical models of cities in the country, with special emphasis on Valparaíso, Viña del Mar and urban settlements of the region of the central coast of Chile. Its current dilemmas and challenges of Housing and Urbanism are analyzed and explored from architectural, political, social, and economic perspectives.
In direct relation, the program explores interdisciplinary socio-environmental and urban dilemmas and challenges in Chile today, focusing on new models of sustainable habitability for environmental protection. In this area, regional cases of "sacrifice zones" associated with the dysfunctional relationship between Industry, Cities, and Nature are studied and observed.
The priority areas for study in this session are the natural areas or landscapes of the countryside, dune, river and sea as spaces of the region's habitat in the new millennium. Finally, the perspectives provided by the Arts and Education, especially aimed at the generations of children and young people, are an essential part of the practical experiences of this citizen living and its natural environment to which this module invites.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The module focuses on Chile's industrial, agricultural and mining development, with special emphasis on its historical background, and the current state of its economic and technological development. It also seeks to explore the political, scientific and environmental aspects in relation to the dilemmas and challenges of a sustainable industry in the protection of nature and the beings that compose it. In this perspective, the study and observation analyzes, in these three areas of the economy, the state of progress of the agreements subscribed by Chile as for:
"Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization and foster innovation" (SDG 9) and "Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, and halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss" (SDG 15).
The priority areas for study in this module are the marine and coastal areas of the Valparaiso Region, its wealth of biological diversity and its protection within the framework of national laws and international agreements signed by Chile. The perspectives provided by the Arts and Education, especially aimed at generations of children and young people, are an essential part of the practical experiences to which this module invites, in the desire of the United Nations SDG: "Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development" (SDG 14).
