ABOUT TSE

TSE, the sole authorized body for standardization in Turkey, operates in diverse fields of the quality

infrastructure that includes certification, testing, training as well as surveillance and inspection activities. TSE

is an active member of the world standardization community; with its full membership of International

Organization for Standardization (ISO) and International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) since 1956,

Standards and Metrology Institute for the Islamic Countries (SMIIC) since 2010, European Committee for

Standardization (CEN) and European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization (CENELEC) since 2012.

TSE, as a standardization body, provides the standards aimed at enabling industrialists to produce goods and

services in compliance with rules, laws, codes and standards applicable in global markets, as well as being a

notified body, enables clients to gain access into the European and Gulf market by ensuring their products

meets all CE mark requirements according to European Directives/Regulations and G mark requirements

according to GSO regulations.

As a leader and respectable Conformity Assessment Body and with the responsibility of seeking public interest

always as a priority, TSE focuses its efforts on providing all kinds of services that industrialists/exporters need

in their relations of trade with other countries.

Today, TSE carries out testing activities with its 118 specialized laboratories within the

scopes of TS EN ISO/IEC 17025 and TS EN ISO/IEC 17043.

In 2018, TSE provided testing services to companies with nearly 64000 test reports.

While performing strategic laboratory operations such as testing, calibration, certification,

outsourcing, Research & Development (R&D) and method development in related sectors,

TSE also makes new breakthroughs in reference material development and proficiency

testing.

Proficiency Testing (PT) is the third-party conformity assessment activity and the most

recognized method used in testing and calibration services in order to determine the

reliability and accuracy of laboratory, method, material or equipment.

Inter Laboratory Comparison & Proficiency Testing Programs, which are crucial steps for

controlling and enhancing the results of laboratories, have been conducted by TSE since

2009.

International accreditation of PT services is performed in accordance with "TS EN ISO/IEC

17043 / Conformity assessment - General requirements for proficiency testing" standard.

Our Institution has become a member of EPTIS since 2010 in order to increase

accessibility by its customers.

In this field, Turkish Standards Institution is the first organization in Turkey and one of

the few accredited organizations in SMIIC.
