INTERNATIONAL ENDURO-CROSS COMPETITION TO BE HELD IN PERTH AS
PART OF MOTORCYCLE SHOW! The Perth Motorcycle and Scooter Show is excited to announce the first International Enduro-cross competition ever to be held in Perth will be staged as part of this years Motorcycle Show! Enduro-cross is a hybrid motorcycle competition, a mix of supercross, trials, and enduro racing held on a reduced scale track with obstacles resembling a trials track. Enduro-cross was founded in America in 2004 and has expanded worldwide; and is gaining popularity throughout Australia. Willie Thomson’s Dirt High Promotions will stage the Enduro-cross event at the Show. Dirt High Promotions are recognised in WA for the popular Wild West Enduro-cross, Tumbulgum and Manjimup 1500 events. Show Director Peter Woods said the introduction of the Enduro-cross competition at this year’s event was massive for the people of Perth, saying it will be a spectacle not to be missed! “Enduro-cross brings a whole new element to racing because it’s not built on speed; it’s built on the riders and his ability to ride a motorcycle over man made obstacles.” “The track will be built at Claremont Showgrounds and will incorporate various elements of off-road riding including rocks, boulders, logs, sand, mud, a water-hole and special obstacles.” “An enduro-cross course is much faster than a trials course and much slower than a supercross course. The competition is action packed and riders need to draw on all their skills to make it through the obstacles,” he said. “It’s a great event for spectators and one the whole family will enjoy,” Peter said. Peter said while there are other Enduro-cross competitions held across Australia, Enduro-cross is still gaining momentum in WA. He said the inclusion of the Enduro-cross at the 2015 Perth Motorcycle and Scooter Show was ideal to give Show goes something extra – and to introduce Enduro-cross to a new audience. “We are pleased to be working with Willie Thomson to present the Enduro-cross competition to the people of Perth. Willie and his team put on amazing events across WA and it is very exciting to have such a high calibre event being put on at the Perth Motorcycle and Scooter Show,” Peter said. International competitor Willie Thomson has announced an international guest competitor in the Enduro-cross event. “We are pleased to announce Graham Jarvis will be taking part in the competition,” Willie said. “Graham Jarvis is a professional endure rider who competes around the world. He holds many titles including five-times British Trials Champion and four-time Scottish Six Days Winner.”

“We are definitely looking forward to seeing Graham compete and show his skills in the Enduro-cross competition at Claremont,” he said. The 2015 Perth Motorcycle and Scooter Show runs from Friday 30th October to Sunday 1st November at Claremont Showgrounds. The event will feature trade displays, stunt riders, FMX demos, motocross demos, live stage show, kid’s zone, come try riding area, charity ride and more.
