Berlin – creative, international and full of attractions
Berlin is the capital of Germany and best known for its significant history, internationalism and tolerance, lively nightlife, its many cafés, clubs, bars, street art, and numerous museums, palaces, and other sites of historic interest. The architecture is quite varied. Although badly damaged in the final years of World War II and divided during the Cold War, Berlin has been reconstructed to a large extent, a process greatly boosted by the reunification following the collapse of the Berlin Wall in 1989.
Today, the city center is home to different architectural styles that represent various periods of its history: from the few medieval buildings that survived near Alexanderplatz to the ultra modern glass and steel structures at Potsdamer Platz. Because of its tumultuous history, Berlin remains a city with many distinctive neighbourhoods. Brandenburger Tor was a symbol of division during the world war – now, it stands for German reunification. It was built on the model of the Acropolis in Athens and was completed in 1799 as the royal city-gate.
Alongside the conference, it is always a pleasure for us to arrange and organize an attractive social program for you. Berlin offers a large number of activities and attractions that that will make your stay interesting and unforgettable.
Whatever catches your interest... a river cruise or visiting various museums, we will do our best to meet your expectations.
On the following pages, you will find more details about the social program we organized. Please use the registration form to book one of the tours.

Berlin’s Museumsinsel (Museum Island) is a unique ensemble of five museums, including the Pergamon Museum – built on the small island in Berlin’s Spree River between 1824 and 1930. A cultural and architectural monument of great significance it was awarded UNESCO World Heritage Status in 1999. Berlin’s own Acropolis of the arts is considered unique because it illustrates the evolution of modern museum design over the course of the 20th century and its collections span six thousand years of human artistic endeavour.

Dr. Gunther von Hagens’ BODY WORLDS exhibitions have revolutionised the museum world. Never before has an exhibition so fundamentally changed the way people see themselves. Even after 20 years of exhibition history and with more than 40 million visitors around the world, the fascination with the mysteries of the human body and the quest for a long, healthy life continue to exude the same magnetism as always.
The Menschen Museum, the world’s first museum dedicated to the human body, invites the visitor to embark on a journey through life and inspires visitors to contemplate what makes us human. The Menschen Museum shows what connects us, what keeps us upright and in motion, what makes us laugh and love. It gives the visitor insights into the highly complex, yet fragile and vulnerable structures of the human body.
