Team Activity: Envisioning New Diagnostics
For a truly immersive experience, delegates may choose to participate in a team activity. Under the leadership of Dr. Carl Yamashiro from the International School of Biomedical Diagnostics at Arizona State University, teams will work together to develop and present a business plan for a novel diagnostic test for cancer early detection.
This activity is a simulation to demonstrate:
1. The principles of diagnostic test development
2. Understanding of market saturation
3. Ability to pitch a new diagnostic test as a business proposition.
The team activity culminates over the two-week Summer School with a competitive presentation; “March Madness”-style brackets, judging, and coveted prizes to be awarded!
For more information on opportunities available for sponsors please contact the summer school organizers.
