Explain The Relationship Between theCarrying Capacity of a Population and the
Factors That Impact an Ecosystem
Increased population will result inmany
consequences: depletion of natural resources
polluted water and air
lack of space increase of disease-causing
organisms
decrease in the quality of life

Quality of Air: Explain How a HighlyPopulated Society Causes Air
Pollution
One result of air pollution is globalwarming.
Humans cause global warming byburning the fossil fuels.
Levels of carbon dioxide are alsoincreased by deforestation and
cement production.

Air PollutionImpacts Environmental
Degradation The global atmospheric effects of air pollution include: global warming ozone depletion acid precipitation Global Warming is the increase in Earths average surface
temperature. Ozone Depletion is the depletion of the layer that exists in theatmosphere and absorbs ultraviolet radiation from the sun.
Acid Precipitation is precipitation with a pH of less than 5.0.

How Can Recycling Improve
Our Quality of Life?
Example: Recycling paper = more trees = more CO2
absorbed = reduced green house gasses
= reduced global warming = less polar icecaps melting = saving coastal landmasses = more habitats = morebiodiversity = healthier ecosystem = ahealthier planet = improved quality of lifefor all living things.
The above exampledemonstrates how everythingon Earth is interconnected!!!

The diagram below shows the relationship betweenthree types of animals in a food chain: Worms areeaten by birds, which in turn are eaten by snakes.
If all the birds in an area died due to a new disease,
what would the impact be to the local populationsof worms and snakes after one month? After oneyear? Explain your answer.
