The European Union is an economical and political partnership between
27 European countries that together cover a great part of the European
continent.
This European project started after the World War II. Its main objective
is the reinforcement of cooperation between the countries that are part of the
European Union, helping each other in situations of necessity and avoiding
mutual conflicts.
Since then, the EU has become a unique major market with a single coin,
the euro.
Thanks to the elimination of frontier controls between the EU countries,
now people can circulate freely all around the European continent. It is also
simpler to live and to work in another country of the EU.
