[57] Abstract:

A crosslaminate is formed from two oriented plies of thermoplastic polymer material, arranged so that their orientation directions cross one another, the plies being heatseaied together. Each ply is senm-fibriliated, that is consist of linear thin regions of biaxiaily oriented material and thicker linear bosses between the thinner regions. The webs are sealed primarily through bonds formed at the intersection of the bosses (thicker regions). The array of bosses has a division less than 2 mm. The laminate has improved aesthetic and strength properties. A method for forming the crosslaminate involves segmental stretching of the material to form the thinner regions, and apparatus comprising intermeshing grooved stretching rollers having sharp-edged crests is described.

[57] Abstract:

A compact electric device for coding and selecting characters, symbols and/or multiple choices, includes a matrix carrying a plurality of contact or proximity sensors (1,2,3,4,5,5,7,8), an activation member (10) of sensors and a single selection key (22). This key is operated by the user for bringing in turn the activation member at least partially in coincidence with at least a first and a second of the sensors, for transmitting a selectively different coded signal for each respective different sensor. The matrix comprises a first group of sensors (1,2,3), having function of selection of respective matrix fields, and a second group of sensors (4,5,6,7,8), having function of selection of characters associated to each matrix field. The sensors are distributed on the matrix according to modular zones, having a central zone (0) and radial sector zones (A, B, C, D).

[57] Abstract:

The invention relates to method and device for protection and control of originality of products and their components and electronically readable certificate thereof. Depending on the structure of product (1) an alloying layer (2) is deposited over the product. The layer (2) is affected by a subsequent controlled beam or jet marking carried out by means of a beam (3) depositing a restorable marking (4). In order to control or recover the marking the surface, the conductivity and the structure of the marked part is scanned in the area where the marking is deposited. The acquired image of the encoding elements of the markings is compared with information that contains relevance between the original marking and the encoded restorable elements. The information is recorded in a database as well on the accompanying electronically readable certificate (12) protected by means of a multimedia encrypted marking (13) against manipulation or counterfeit.

A soldering flux which is suitable as a no-cleaning post flux in flow soldering and which can prevent the formation of whiskers which tends to occur when soldering electronic parts to a printed circuit board using a lead-free solder (such as Sn-3.0Ag-0.5Cu) having a higher Sn content and a higher melting point than the eutectic solder contains, in addition to a rosin as a base resin and an activator, 0.2 - 4 mass % of at least one compound selected from acid phosphate esters and derivatives thereof. The formation of whiskers can be more effectively prevented by carrying out soldering in a nitrogen atmosphere.

[57] Abstract:

Techniques for performing codeword level scrambling for a MIMO transmission are described. A transmitter station may perform channel encoding for multiple data streams being sent simultaneously for a MIMO transmission. The channel encoding may include forward error correction (FEC) encoding and/or rate matching. The transmitter station may perform scrambling for the multiple data streams with different scrambling codes after the channel encoding. The transmitter station may also perform channel interleaving, symbol mapping, and spatial processing for the multiple data streams after the channel encoding. A receiver station may receive the MIMO transmission, perform descrambling for the multiple data streams with the different scrambling codes, and then perform channel decoding for the multiple data streams.; The scrambling may allow the receiver station to isolate each data stream by performing the complementary descrambling and to obtain randomized interference from the remaining data stream(s), which may improve performance.

[57] Abstract:

In a transmitter or transceiver, signals can be precoded by multiplying symbol vectors with various matrices. For example, symbol vectors can be multiplied with a first column subset of unitary matrix which spreads symbols in the symbol vectors across virtual transmit antennas, a second diagonal matrix which changes a phase of the virtual transmit antennas, and a third precoding matrix which distributes the transmission across the transmit antennas.

[57] Abstract:

An aggregate composition and process for making the aggregate composition. The aggregate composition includes an insoluble rare earth-containing compound and a polymer binder. The insoluble rare earth-containing compound can include one or more of cerium, lanthanum, or praseodymium. A suitable insoluble cerium-containing compound can be derived from cerium carbonate or a cerium salt. In a specific embodiment, the aggregate composition consists essentially of one or more cerium oxides, the polymer binder and optionally a flow aid. A process for making the composition includes mixing the insoluble rare earth-containing compound with a polymer binder to form a mixture, and subjecting the mixture to mechanical, chemical and/or thermal treatment to adhere the rare earth compound to the polymer binder. The aggregate composition can be used in a variety of fluid treatment applications to remove one or more chemical and biological contaminants in a fluid.

[57] Abstract:

An oral care implement or toothbrush (100) includes a head (104), a tooth cleaning element region (116) and a tissue cleaning element region (114). The tissue cleaning element region (114) includes a plurality of flexible, angled projections (120). The projections (120) are configured to flex from an at-rest position to a substantially flat position when the tissue cleaning element region (114) is in contact with the tongue and is pushed into the mouth. The projections (120) are also configured to flex to a substantially upright position when the tissue cleaning element region (114) is in contact with the tongue and is pulled out of the mouth. This arrangement aids in preventing debris from being pushed into the mouth and in removing debris from the mouth and tongue. The flexible projections (120) may be used in conjunction with rigid projections (122) having a generally vertical configuration to aid in removing debris from the mouth and in engaging the cheek to improve saliva production during brushing.

[57] Abstract:

The invention relates to a temporary bridge including two spans (1, 2), each comprising at least three bridge elements (3-5) to be stacked when the bridge is in a first so-called non-deployed position. Said bridge elements (3-5) are pivotably connected to one another, wherein two consecutive bridge elements (3-5) are connected to one another by at least two linking arms (7-9, 12, 13) mounted on the same side edge of said bridge elements (3-5). According to the invention, two consecutive linking arms (7-9, 12, 13) form a regular parallelogram with the two consecutive bridge elements connected by said arms, which can be deformed such that the movement of one bridge element relative to a bridge element immediately below in the stack of a span (1, 2) in said non-deployed position of said bridge causes the circular translation of said bridge element relative to said bridge element of said span immediately below. For at least one of said spans, at least one of the linking arms (8, 12, 13) is shared by three consecutive bridge elements. The bridge comprises a means for moving each bridge element (3, 4) stacked on another bridge element (4, 5) in the first position between said first position and a second position, referred to as a deployed position, in which the bridge elements are coupled together to form the bridge.
