Reduce absolute global-warming gas footprint by 20% by 2012 from 2007 levels.

Reduce energy consumption per chip 5% per year from 2007 through 2012.

Achieve engineering and design milestones to ensure that Intel products keep the energy-efficiency lead in the market for our next two product generations.

Reduce water use per chip1 by 2012 from 2007 levels.

Reduce generation of chemical waste per chip by 10% by 2012 from 2007 levels.

Recycle 80% of chemical and solid waste generated per year.

Intel’s 2012 Environmental Goals

Energy Conservation & Green Power

Intel energy efficiency projects have saved more than 790 million kilowatt hours since 2001.

#1 voluntary purchaser of green power since 2008.

Purchased 2.5 billion kilowatt hours of renewable energy credits (RECs) in 2011, a 75 percent increase over its 2010 commitment of 1.43 billion kilowatt hours

Equates to more than 85 percent of Intel’s estimated purchased electricity needs in the United States for 2011.

Water Stewardship

$100 million invested in water conservation projects since 1998

Saved 36 billion gallons of water –enough for 335,000 U.S. homes for one year

In 2009, reclaimed approximately 2 billion gallons of water from our manufacturing operations

In 2010, adopted Intel’s first public Water Policy

Local water conservation initiatives in US, India, China, Israel and Ireland gaining significant results

Environmentally Sensitive Materials

• Minimize the environmental impact of our products at all phases in their life cycle: development, production, use, and ultimate disposal

• Committed to removing materials from our products that potentially have adverse effects on the environment

Opportunity for ongoing iNEMI work.
