Instructions on how to connect your mobile phone via Bluetooth® using theexternal authorization feature of the Mercedes-Benz hands-free system. (All examples shown are using the Comand system)

Please follow the steps below to connect your mobile phone (Apple IPhone 4 CDMA) with the mobile phoneapplication of your Mercedes-Benz hands-free system using Bluetooth®.

For a connection between your mobile phone and your Mercedes-Benz hands-free system to besuccessful Bluetooth® must be turned on in your mobile phone. Please make sure to also read theoperating and pairing instructions of the mobile phone.

Step 1

To get to the telephone screen of your Mercedes-Benzhands-free system press the “TEL” key on the radio or select"Phone."

Step 2

Select the "Phone" application located in the lower left corner.

Step 3

Select the "Bluetooth Phones" application.

Step 4

Select "Options."

Select "External Authorization."

The Bluetooth receiver in the car is now detected by the“External Device” which is your Mobile Phone. The next pairingstep must be performed on your mobile phone.

Step 6 (to be performed on your Apple IPhone 4 CDMA)

1. Unlock the iPhone by using the touchscreen "slide to unlock."2. Select "Settings."3. Select "General."4. Select "Bluetooth®."5. Select "Bluetooth®" and if it is turned off change to on by using the touchscreen.6. "Bluetooth ON" and "Now Discoverable" will be shown.7. The iPhone will search for Bluetooth® devices and "Devices" will be shown.8. After a successful search, select "MB Bluetooth®."

Step 7

Confirm the authorization of your mobile phone by selecting"Yes." The name of your mobile phone will be displayed where"My Phone" is shown.

Step 8

To connect your mobile phone to your Mercedes-Benzhands-free system enter a unique 1 to 16 digit passcode(password) using the Mercedes-Benz hands-free system. Toguarantee a successful Bluetooth® connection it isrecommended that at least a 4 digit passcode (password) isused.

Select "OK" to confirm

To complete the connection process follow the steps belowand enter the passcode (password) previously entered in step10 on the keypad of your mobile phone.

Step 9 (to be performed on your Apple IPhone 4 CDMA)

1. "Enter PIN for "MB Bluetooth®"" will be shown.2. Please enter your passcode by using the keypad on the touchscreen. This passcode must be identicalto the passcode you entered in the Mercedes-Benz hands-free system.3. Confirm the passcode by selecting "Connect."4. "Bluetooth® / Devices / MB Bluetooth® Paired" will be shown.5. Select the "Home" button to return to the Home screen.

Step 10

If the authorization was successful several PopUps appears onyour Mercedes-Benz hands-free system. Do NOT press “cancel”, please allow the system time tocomplete the pairing step

The actual Status is shown.

If the authorization is successful a PopUp "AuthorizationProcedure successful" is shown.

Step 11

After your mobile phone is successfully connected viaBluetooth® to your Mercedes-Benz hands-free system thename and show the actual status of your mobile (example "MyPhone") phone will be displayed.
