interactive learning environment where the educator guide students as they

apply concepts and engage creatively in the subject matter].

- NPTEL Centre coordinated by IIT Kharagpur has been established.

- The Spoken tutorials are launched.. coordinated by IIT Bombay

- The Institute under Autonomous Structure adopted ICT based learning from the inception of the Autonomy.

Previously, Audio Visual Teaching Aids were used selectively.

- IIT Bombay Remote Centre, Resource Center and IIT Chennai resourced QEEE Centre were established.

- Various activities are made automated and online (right from Staff attendance systems through Biometric to Leave application, Online payment etc..)

- All the Statutory Committees are held responsible and accountable with tangible targets

Skill Development and Communication Initiative

- “Speaker’s Corner” is an initiative to provide the students platform to share

their ideas and also to improve on their communication skill. This is a

mandatory weekly event, entwined in the academic time-table.

- The number of research projects through funding agencies multiples under

autonomy. Innovations are encouraged to the extent under autonomous

Framework.

- The Projects from Regulatory Bodies (like AICTE MODROB-RPS, UGC minor project) as well as from other

agencies DST, CSIR were granted only under autonomous structure.

Twin events of JIS Technical Symposium and National Seminar on “Teacher as a Role Model” on 21st -22nd January, 2016

The events took place in the above mentioned two dates with later event on the second day. “JISTech 2k16” is a special type of program with different flavor. Mainly, students are integrated with this “JISTech 2k16” activity directly. On 21st& 22nd January 2016, students were exhibited their innovative projects not in the manuscript format, but in the way of presentable first prototype design format. On the view of modification of our traditional study processes this event has been designed towards the improvement of hands-on engineering experience of our students. This has been organized to provide an excellent platform to showcase all kinds of different talents ranging

from arts, educational and something beyond the curriculum. Firstly, it helps the institution to bring together the students from across the country. Secondly, these promote innovative ideas and allow students to share their knowledge and ideas with other students. Thirdly, attending these festivals give information on the different fields of study. JISTech 2K16 was comprise of Inter Department Model Exhibition at Institute Level, Inter School Model Exhibition, Inter College Model Exhibition, Code Fluenza, Game Zone, Robotics, Debate, Quiz, B-Plan and Guest Lectures & Photography Exhibition. Proper guidance is provided on the field of stage presentation, model presentation. JISTech, 2K16 is the place where high profile delegates used to visit. Through their valuable advice the symposium turns out to be a big successful event. Students are allowed to discuss their plans with the delegates. Students are encouraged towards the stat-up processes form the industrialist personality. Interdepartmental Exhibition is one of the most eye catching events. All departments of JISCE gather and present their capabilities and receive the prizes for the best. Providing a platform for students to presents their innovative ideas and models and implementing those ideas in real life scenario is the prime motto of JISTech, 2K16. In the JIS Tech Symposium, a sizable number of School project was exhibited with Inter and Intra-Institutional engineering design and manufacturing models. Around 300 Institutions were approached and the teacher representative from nearly 150 institutions participated in the national Seminar and visited the stall. There was separate stall to exhibit engineering design /model for every departments and separate arena for invited institutions.

AkashTablets for this program. A special smart class room prepared for this. Mentoring System: The main objective of mentoring system is to go beyond purely academic concern towards the all roundwell being of the student and to help them for emotional and mental stability. The students in each class are divided in groups of Ten (10) students and one faculty member is attached to each group. A date sheet is given to faculty concerned who notes the meeting of the students in each week. The faculty gives special attention for the 10 students regarding his Co-curricular activities and extracurricular activities. Extensive remedial teaching is given to the academically weaker students who are identified by diagnostic test. The students are counseled for other problems like financial, health, personal etc. The girl students are guided and counseled by the lady faculties. Career guidance and counseling is done for all students. Career Guidance : More than 200 students of 4th yr. appearing in the GATE 2017 examinations. In 2016 , 93 students scored high in GATE examination. UG students acquire limited knowledge through lectures in the class room and reference work at library. But this exposure is not enough for them to the real life situation. Adaptation of Participatory approach is very important. In this way they can identify a problem , analyze the causes and finding the solution. This way of learning process is meaningful and interesting. JISCE introduced the Project work in the 3rd and 4th year courses as compulsory topic and it is within the curriculum of the courses. We have an MoUYotto lab, Bangalore, TCS ion for training some students as Internee. The students identify the problem in consulted with the faculties who works as guide and one from Industry as co-guide. This area makes the students most interesting. This enables students to adopt scientific approach in the study of any problem and helps them to develop analytical skill for data collection and analysis and learn to prepare a project report and develop the attitude for research. The faculty who is guiding the students for project divide the students into groups on their Choices and select a research project, research design, collection of reference data, journal consultation etc. Project Work: For every project a faculty is allotted as a guide based on the areas of specialization and choice of the student. The student constantly interact with the guide. The guide and the Department Council

approves the proposals on the basis of time constrains, availability of resources, financial implication and complexity of the project. After the project proposal is finalized the students collect the reference work from the journals. Guide shows him/her how to study the journals. Both hardware and software projects the students work in the lab and collects the data, tabulates them, Analyze them with various research tools and interprets the data. Finally the students submit the project report to the Department. Continuous Evaluation of the work by the guide is made at every stage of work. An external examiner is appointed to evaluate the project report after Viva-voce marks is allotted. Impact of the practice: The project work undertaken by the students helps them to develop confidence and motivates them to prepare and take up projects in research and innovation. Write up of a project are implement them is the major impact. Moreover the students who works as internee in some industries can identify the industrial problem, suggest for their solution. Evidence of Success: The departments collect feedback from the students regarding their project work after completion. The feedback shows that students achieve some scientific approach to any problem. Even an average student does well in project work and publishes papers on the project. Behavioral aspects :To create awareness among the students about Indian Cultural values, Secularism, Values and Ethics in Industry. JISCE organizes cultural festivals and teaches them about the ethical values in industry and aware them about it. College focuses on both academic as well as cultural programs in order to bring a linkage with theory and practice and between knowledge and actions. JISCE organizes most of the festivals in the college such as Independence Day celebration, Republic Day celebration, Navaratri, Saraswati Puja, Annual Fest and many more. These festivals are observed in a wholesome manner involving total participation by students. Besides these Quiz programme are organized. Organizing such cultural events help in building strong bondage among the students. Students participate very enthusiastically in these events which helps them to build positive attitude.
