AMI-v6 kit is modern device which activates and allows connect sources

of sound like: USB stick, iPOD.

Module is recommended for AUDI cars equipped in MMI3G/3G+ or RMC.

Connected USB stick or iPOD with audio file is automaticly detected by

multimedia system of car.

There are available all MMI system functions as browsing tracks, sorting, e.t.c.

documentation via print or online media is only allowed with the prior consent of

Important

Please read installation manual very careful and keep it in right way. During

installation, pay attention to all relevant aspects related to safety of installation and

use of the device.

The priority during the design and production of all devices by JUNA electronics

company is security and service comfort. It has been achieved by

applying the modern techniques of design and production processes of electronic

devices.

Module should be installed in technical workshops by qualified personnel or

by people who have experience in this type of installations. Installation of devices by

not qualification people can cause injury to persons or damage to property.

2.2 RECOMENDATIONS

It is recommended keep to the general safety rules and pay attention for any threat that can cause of damage to the vehicle.

We advice to mount device in safety place, where it is not exposed for moisture, water or too high temperatures.

Device should not be installed in places where it could difficult safe driving or operating efficiency of other units installed in vehicle.

The devices can be connected only to 12V. Modules can't be used in vehicles with 24V and higher voltage.

Please note that most of our devices are based on software that may require an update. That's why you should always mount the device in easily available place in the vehicle.

In some countries it may be necessary to check the legal provisions before installation and startup of the device. In the interest of high quality and development of our products, JUNA Electronics reserves the right to make technical changes.

In the case of a warranty claim, the device should be sent back to the seller in original packaging with a detailed description of the problem with attached purchase invoice.

Warranty claims as well as exploitation rights expire due:

A) Not authorized changes in devices or accessories, which have not been approved or have not been provided by the manufacturer or his partners.

B) Opening the device's box.

C) Yourself repair the device.

D) Improper use / improper operation of the device

E) Mechanical damage (drop, intentional damage, accident etc.)

F) Flooding with water or other liquids

The full launch of the AMI-V6 system requires two steps:

1. Instalation of the unit and its connections.

2. Inclusion function AMI in MMI system via dongle which is included in the

device set. The description on page 4 and 5.

The following description and the drawing is only a symbolic connection diagram

of MMI main unit 3G with AMI-V6 interface.

Proper connection the device in the car requires the removal

the MMI main unit and glove compartment.

Installation example AMI-V6 is shown on the 7, 8 page. “EXAMPLE OF

INSTALLATION”

WARNING: If the vehicle is equipped with factory-socket AUX IN (jack) this input

will be not active and not connected.

All operations of installing , dismantling, disconnecting switching bundle should be

performed after switching off the ignition and MMI system.

1. Disconnect the main connector ISO from MMI unit.

2. Remove green plug from ISO socket.

3. In place of the removed plug, put in green plug of bundle AMI-V6. point

4. Insert the FAKRA plug of bundle AMI-V6 to MMI unit. point

5. Connect the other side of the bundle to the interface AMI-V6. point

4. UNLOCKING DEVICE IN SYSTEM MMI

Unlocking device in system MMI can be allowed after completely

installing AMI-V6.

WARNING: OBD dongle can be used only in car in which was

unlocking AMI function

OBD dongle is equipped in red LED, which inform about current OBD dongle state:

- Directly after connecting to OBD diagnostic connector, LED flashes with 1Hz

frequency to the time of start communicating.

- During unlocking LED shine continuously

- After successful completion of unlocking LED goes out.

- Unlocking continues approx. 1min.

- If LED diode flashes fast (approx. 5Hz) indicates an error in unlocking or used

dongle does not belong to that car.

1. Turn on the ignition and wait approx. 40 sec.

2. Plug dongle (Fig. 2) in OBD diagnostic socket, which is on the right side over

driver's legs. (Fig. 3)

3. After inserting dongle, LED start flashing with the frequency of 1Hz and after

certain time LED will be shining continuously.

4. After about one minute the LED should go out.

WARNING: During unlocking process does not remove dongle from

OBD socket.

Next steps make using control panel MMI.

1. Push and hold SETUP button, next immediately push and hold CAR button.

(SETUP-->CAR). After about 4-5 sec. shows up menu on the screen (Fig. 4).

WARNING: Depending on the model of the car may occur different combinations

buttons (CAR-->MENU or MENU-->TEL).

2. Using rotary knob on the MMI panel enter into another depression menu.

For MMI 3G system:

diagnose ---> settings ---> AMI/AUX , select and change the current settings

from [AUX /no AMI BT /no AMI] to [AUX / no AMI BT / AMI] 7/8.

Figures 4,5,6 show the order of proceedings for MMI 3G system.

For MMI 3G+ system:

diagnose ---> settings ---> AMI_AUX---> AMI , select and change current

settings from [disabled] to [enabled] 1/2.

Figure 4,7,8,9 show the order of proceedings for MMI3G+ system.

3. Confirm the settings by pressing the rotary knob and then wait for a while.

4. Make restart the MMI system:

Press the buttons at the same time:

for Audi MMI 2G & 3G

- SETUP, ROTARY KNOB and right top function button.

for Audi MMI 3G+

- TONE/MENU , ROTARY KNOB and right top function button.

After few seconds release buttons. AUDI MMI screen turns off and after a few

seconds, the system will restarts.

If your car does not have TONE button, use MENU button.

5. Press button MEDIA --->SOURCE.

6. If LED on dongle is off – remove dongle from OBD socket.

1. Remove glove compartment and MMI unit. 2. Choose the place of installation interface in the glove compartment.

3. Cut holes for socket and screws in the side of glove compartment.

4. Cut out holes for socket and screws in the side of glove compartment.

5. Screw the interface to the side of glove compartment.

6. Fixed interface in the glove compartment.

7. Place the bundle which connect the interface with MMI control unit. 8. Connect bundle to interface.

9. Remove ISO connector from MMI unit. 10. Remove green plug from ISO connector and put in this place green plug from bundle AMI-V6.

11. Connect ISO connector to MMI unit again. 12. Insert green plug (4 pin) of bundle AMI-V6 into brown socket in MMI unit.

13. After connecting USB stick and iPOD, interface is activated and devices are listed on MMI screen.
