INSTALLATION MANUAL SPSS
Step 1: Go to https://www.surfspot.nl/spss-informatie and download the interim Fix for your SPSS version. The interim fix is the log4j patch.
Step 2: Before the interim Fix is downloaded, install the free unpacking program Winrar. Step 3: Click on the download button and wait for the installation file to download.
Step 4: Next, click on the file. The file will now open in WinRar.

Step 5: Close SPSS and go to 'This PC' via File Explorer.
Step 6: Open the SPSS folder via C:\Program Files\IBM\SPSS Statistics\.

Step 7: Find the following files and move them to a backup location outside the Statistics installation path:
• $SPSS_HOME/log4j-core-2.13.3.jar • $SPSS_HOME/log4j-api-2.13.3.jar • $SPSS_HOME/log4j-1.2-api-2.13.3.jar • $SPSS_HOME/as-3.3.0.0/lib/log4j-1.2-api-2.13.3.jar • $SPSS_HOME/as-3.3.0.0/lib/log4j-core-2.13.3.jar • $SPSS_HOME/as-3.3.0.0/lib/log4j-api-2.13.3.jar

Click the right mouse button and select 'Knippen (Cut)' or use the shortcut Ctrl + X to cut.
Create a new folder for the backup.
Copy the files to the backup location. Click the right mouse button and select ‘Plakken (Paste)’ or use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + V.

Put a check mark in front of ‘Dit voor alle huidige items doen (Do this for all current items)' and click 'Doorgaan (Continue)'.
The files have now been moved.
The last three files that still need to be moved are in the folder 'as-3.3.0.0'. Open this folder.

Copy the files to the backup location.

Create a separate folder and move the files to this folder.

Step 8: Copy the new files from the zip file to the locations ‘C:\Program Files\IBM\SPSS Statistics’ and ‘C:\Program Files\IBM\SPSS Statistics\as-3.3.0.0\lib’.

Again, copy the files from the zip file and paste it into the 'lib' folder.
