Installation of a Twin Unit (S tandard Installation e x cluding high wate r table areas )

2 ) Removetheservicehatchfromthecompressorboxhousingsectionoftheunitbymeansofcuttingthecableties(note-careshouldbetakennottodamagethis)andretaininsafeplace.

3 ) Lifttheunitbymeansofstrappingthroughtheeyebolts,ensurethatunitisemptyofwaterbeforefitting.

4 ) Lowertheunitintotheholecheckingthattheinletandoutletconnectionsontheunitwillalignwiththecorrespondingconnections.

5 ) Ifyouareusingananchoringkit,removeunitandinstallnow.

6 ) Leveltheunitintheholeusingthepumpboxhousingtolevelfrom.Beginbackfillaroundthebaseoftheunittoadepthofapproximately700mm(youhavetheoptionatthisstageofcirculatingthewedgeswithaconcreteringtoensurenoliftingifthegroundissubjecttomoderatewaterlog).Filltheunitwithacorrespondingamountofwatertohelpstabilisetheunit.

7) Continuebackfillaroundtheunitwhilstsimultaneouslyfillingtheunitwithwateruntiltheunitisfull.

8 ) Connectinletandoutletconnectionstosewerpipes.

9 ) Removethepumpboxhousingandattachtheblowerpipetotheblowertubebymeansofthejubileeclipsuppliedandpasstheotherendintothepumpboxhousing.

10 ) Continuebackfilluptogroundlevel.

11) Lay2.5mmarmouredcablefromproposedelectricalconnectiontotheunitpassingitintotheunitviatheelectricalglandalreadyinplace.Leavea½mloopinsidethebodyofthetreatmentplantandpassthecablethroughthe2ndelectricalglandintheairpumpbox.SecurelyfixadoubleIPratedsocket(youmayneedtwooftheseforapumpedunit).I f y o u d o no t fi x y o u r e le ctr ica l co nne ctio n s e cu r e ly to the box , it wil l r a tt le a nd ma k e a no is e a s the p u mp s co ns ta ntly v ib r a te .

12 ) SecurelyfixoneendoftheblueTsectiontotheblowerpipeandthensecuretheotherendtothecompressor.

13 ) Fixblowerboxbackintoplace.

14 ) Installthealarm–thesmallclearhoseattachestotheblueT-Section.

D r y P in M e thod1) Insertthesteelanchoragepinsbyhammeringthemhorizontally(90degrees)tothewallsoftheexcavationinto

theundisturbedgroundatadepthof1200mm(fromthetop).Thepinsneedtobeinsertedleaving300mmprotrudingintotheexcavatedarea.

2 ) Connectalengthofgalvanisedchainintotheholeintheendofeachpinusingashackle.Takethelooseendtothetopoftheexcavationandsecuretemporarily.

3 ) Continuetoinstalltankasperfittinginstructions.

4 ) WhenBio-pureisfullyinstalledinserteyeboltsintothedownpositionie.Eyeboltatthebottom,nutatthetop.Attachthelooseendofthechainintotheeyeboltsbymeansofshackle,adjustandtighteneacheyebolttotakeupanyslackinchain–donotleaveanyslackinchainsastankmaymove.

5 ) Continuetobackfilltodesiredlevel.

D r y Pin A nchoring K it4x1200mmgalvanisedsteelangleirons(50mmx50mmx6mm)eachwithapointatoneendanda13mmholeattheother.8xgalvanisedsteel‘D’shackles.4x1200mmlong,6mmdiameterweldedlinkgalvanisedsteelchain.

Electrical InstallationItisnotfeasibletostateaspecificinstallationmethodduetothevarianceofsites.Itisimportantthereforethatanelectricalinstallationbeperformedinaccordancewiththe17thorlatereditionoftheInstituteofElectricalEngineersRegulationswithappropriatecurrentprotectiondevicesforsiteconfiguration.Thesupplytotheairpumphousingshouldhaveadedicatedcircuitincorporatingisolationandprotectiondevices.Anearthleakagecircuitbreakerisrecommended.Adevicewitha30mAmaximumtripcurrentisrecommended.

2 ) A2.5mmarmouredcableislaidfromthefusespurtotheBio-Pure,itisthenpassedthroughthefirstelectricalglandinstalledintheshellofthetreatmentplantand½mloopisthenleftinthebody.Itisthenpassedthroughthe2ndelectricalgland

3 ) AdoubleIPratedsocketissecurelyfixedtothewalloftheAirBoxandthe2.5mmarmouredcableisconnected.

4 The Bio-Pure Twin Installation

Installation of Air B lowerItisrecommendedthattheairblowerpumpbeinstalledinthepumphousing,withanappropriatesinglephase13ampsupply.Caremustbetakentoensuretheunitisnotsubjecttowateringressage,freefromdustanddirtthatcouldclogtheairfilters.Accesstotheairblowerunitwillberequiredformaintenance.Ensureunitiswellventilated.

Werecommendthatonlyaqualifiedelectricianisemployedtoundertaketheelectricalinstallationoftheairblowerpump.Theairblowerpipeissecuredtothepumpandtheblowertubebymeansofthejubileeclipssupplied.

Commissioning Check list prior to switching on power supply

Priortouseofunitandbeforeanysewageenterspleasecheckthefollowing:-

■ Ensureairdiffuserissecureontheendoftheblowertubeandblowertubeissecuretoitsmounting

■ Ensuretheblowerpipeisnotkinkedordamagedinanyway(makesureithasbeencuttothecorrectsize)

■ Removeanyconstructiondebrisfromareassurroundingunit

Commissioning Check list after turning on power supply■ Ensuretheairblowerisworking(itshouldhumandvibrateslightly)

■ Listenforanyairleaks(tightenjointsifrequired)

■ Standingabovetheunitwiththeservicehatchremoved,checkforwaterturbulence(thewatershould bubblevigorously)

■ Runsometapsinthehouseandobservetheflowintotheunit(anyconstructiondebrisbroughtinbythe flowshouldberemoved)

■ Allowwatertoentertheunituntilfull,observingthedisplacementaroundtheoutletweir

■ Securelyreplacepumphousingandservicehatch,securewithcabletiessupplied
