Skytide Insight for Online Content
Skytide Overview
The Skytide Analytical Platform presents a new way of processing data that makes it possible to merge together diverse, high volume data. Because Skytide connects directly to the data source, it eliminates the resource-intensive process of putting the data into a relational database structure before analysis and queries can be performed.
Skytide’s unique architecture makes it an easy, fast process to analyze and report on the extreme volumes of data generated by access and use of online content and applications, including such diverse formats as: transaction log fi les from Flash, Windows Media, and Real Media servers, HTTP, HTML, online transaction logos, and more.
At a high level the Skytide process follows these steps:
1. Skytide connects to each data source where it resides and pulls it into the Skytide engine on a continuous basis.
2. Data fl ows into pre-defi ned multi-dimensional “cubed” models.
3. Results from the analytical models are aggregated over time for trend and point-in-time analysis.
4. Reports are automatically generated through a wide range of presentation formats, including the Skytide Designer Interface, Corda web portal reports, CrystalReports, JasperSoft, and Excel.
5. Incremental updates are automatically performed, providing users near real-time reports.
6. Ad hoc queries and reports are easily created, allowing further drill-down or slicing through the aggregated data.
“Traditional Business Intelligence
solutions lack the ability to
deliver dynamic, real-time
information on very large
heterogeneous data sets. A new
generation of business analytics,
such as the Skytide Analytical
Platform, will allow companies
to bridge these high volumes
of structured and unstructured
data sets with speed and power
for on-the-fl y information
without the overhead of a data
warehouse.”
Dennis Drogseth, VP
Enterprise Management
