TASTEFUL STATEMENT NAILS

Nails are hot and they have been for the past 2 years! Americans are certainly

not too shy to experiment with outrageous and bright colours...

With the advent of programmes such as Real Housewives of Atlanta etc

where brands, appearance, hair and quality of what you carry own

And buy was emphasised for all to see.... We now have the likes of NeNe to

thank for the “in your face nails” as well as Phaedra the lawyer.!

I have always loved my God given fingers and have cultivated my nail growth

for years as nails that are too short do nothing for my hands and any self

respecting lady either, the trick is to have them in acceptable length and not

Ghetto Claws.

Some of the nail tip trends that are now en mode are not new to me as I used

to be rather innovative and individualistic about the appearance of my nails

– for instance in the 90’s I used to have neutral nails with black coloured

tips, then moved on to new colours eventually and then progressed to neutrals

with nail art or fashion blings on the middle finger only!

So now that the research has been done to establish what’s up with those

globally I have brought you some images of what is stylish, elegant, tasteful

and definitely Not vulgar!

¡Los clavos son calientes y han sido por los últimos 2 años! Los americanos no son ciertamente

demasiado tímidos experimentar con colores indignantes y brillantes…

Con el advenimiento de programas tales como amas de casa verdaderas de Atlanta etc en donde las

marcas de fábrica, el aspecto, el pelo y la calidad de lo que usted lleva para poseer

y la compra fueron acentuados para que todo considere…. ¡Ahora tenemos los gustos de NeNe a

agradecer por “en su cara clavamos” así como Phaedra a abogado.!

Tengo amé a mi dios dado los dedos y he cultivado siempre mi crecimiento del clavo por años

como clavos que sean demasiado cortos no hagan nada para mis manos y cualquier uno mismo

respetar a señora cualquiera, el truco es tenerlas en longitud aceptable y no garras del ghetto.

¡Algunas de las tendencias de la extremidad del clavo que ahora son modo del en no son nuevas a

mí como era algo innovador e individualista sobre el aspecto de mis clavos - por ejemplo en los

años 90 yo utilizaron tener clavos neutrales con extremidades coloreadas negras, después se

movieron encendido a los nuevos colores eventual y después progresaron a los neutrals con blings

del arte o de la manera del clavo en el dedo medio solamente!

¡Tan ahora que la investigación se ha hecho para establecer cuál es para arriba con ésos global yo le

han traído algunas imágenes de cuál es con estilo, elegante, de buen gusto y definitivamente no

vulgar!

¡El amor, aprecia, y toma la indirecta para hacer que sus dígitos están parados hacia fuera y les

demuestran un cierto AMOR sofisticado!!

Les ongles sont chauds et ils ont eu lieu pendant les 2 dernières années ! Les Américains ne sont

certainement pas trop timides pour expérimenter avec des couleurs indignes et lumineuses…

Avec l'arrivée des programmes televises tels que RHOA etc. où les marques, l'aspect, les

cheveux et la qualité de ce que vous portez et l'achat ont été soulignés pour que tous le

voient…. Nous avons maintenant les goûts de NeNe à remercier jette sur votre visage aussi bien

que Phaedra l'avocat. !

J'ai toujours aimé mes doigts et ai cultivé la croissance de mes ongles pendant des années

comme les ongles qui sont trop courts ne font rien pour mes mains et n'importe quel individu ,

le tour est de les avoir d‟une longueur acceptable et pas les griffes de ghetto.

Certaines des tendances de mode d'ongle qui sont maintenant „en trend ‟ ne sont pas nouvelles

comme j'avais l'habitude d'être plutôt innovatrice et individualiste au sujet de l'aspect de mes

ongles - par exemple dans les années 90 j„avait les ongles neutres avec des bouts colorés noirs,

puis une fois passé à de nouvelles couleurs par la suite et ont progressé aux neutres avec des

blings d'art ou de mode d'ongle sur le doigt moyen seulement !

Ainsi maintenant que la recherche a été faite pour établir ce qui est vers le haut globalement je

vous ais apporté quelques images de ce qui est élégant, bcbg et certainement non vulgaire !

Statement Nails - Hollywood Bling

This is a brief commentary on the B Sassoon exhibition which has

ended at the F & T Museum in London SE1 on 88 Bermondsey St.

Nearest tube is London Bridge and same for bus with just a little walk

involved.

Some people are not au fait with the existence of this little london

treasure which is not far from one of my favourite fashion and wine

spot in London – Vinopolis – many happy memories and a great place

to meet up with friends for a drink on a Friday night.

Anyway, I digress – I happened on this little beaut of a spot one

Saturday when I was due to take a course to improve my photoshop

skills and lo and behold! The history of a fashion great catalogued and

displayed for all to see and appreciate.

The gowns and photography were fantastic - I would strongly

recommend that anyone who loves or has an interest in fashion goes

on some of the current exhibitions they have on offer. The entry fee is

minimal and the premises are big enough without being too large.

The facilities are good and clean and it is a great way to find out more

about fashion and its history for anyone who cares to claim to be in the

know!

Currently the details of the Mexican exhibition have been provided –

so go and enjoy with a like minded friend and then go to Hutong at

the Shard or if your pocket does not stretch that far go to some of the

other cute eateries in the neighbourhood.

Esto es un breve comentario en la exposición de B Sassoon que ha

terminado en el museo de F y de T en Londres SE1 en el St. de 88

Bermondsey El tubo más cercano es puente e igual de Londres para el

autobús con apenas un poco caminata implicada.

Alguna gente no es fait del au con la existencia de este pequeño tesoro de

Londres que no esté lejos de uno de mi punto de la manera y del vino del

favorito en Londres - Vinopolis - muchas memorias felices y un gran

lugar para reunirse a amigos para una bebida en una noche de viernes.

¡De todas formas, digress - sucedí en este pequeño beaut de un punto un

sábado en que debía a la toma al curso mejorar mis habilidades del

photoshop y bajo y behold! La historia de una gran haber catalogado de

la manera y exhibida para que todos vean y aprecien.

Los vestidos y la fotografía eran fantásticos - recomendaría fuertemente

que cualquier persona que ama o tiene un interés en la manera va en

algunas de las exposiciones actuales que tienen en oferta. El honorario

de la entrada es mínimo y las premisas son bastante grandes sin ser

demasiado grandes.

¡Las instalaciones son buenas y limpia y él está una gran manera de

descubrir más sobre la manera y su historia para cualquier persona que

cuide para demandar estar en el saber!

Los detalles de la exposición mexicana se han proporcionado

actualmente - así que vaya y goce con a como amigo importado y

después vaya a Hutong en el casco o si su bolsillo no estira que va lejos a

algunos de los otros eateries lindos en la vecindad.

This summer the Fashion and Textile Museum

stages the first-ever exhibition on the rebozo –

the classic Mexican shawl made famous in 20th

century culture by artist Frida Kahlo. Made in

Mexico explores the key role textiles have

played in promoting Mexican culture worldwide

from the 17th century to the present day.

Rebozos on display include major loans from:

the Franz Mayer Museum, Mexico City; the

Museum of Textiles, Oaxaca; the British

Museum and rebozos from private collections

that have never been shown in public before.

Contemporary Mexican and UK artists,

photographers, fashion and textile designers also

present new work created in response to the

rebozo and Mexican textiles – including

Francisco Toledo, Graciela Iturbide, Carla

Fernandez, Zandra Rhodes and Kaffe Fassett.

Those of us who work long and hard hours to pay and support our families,

children and selves – do deserve a treat once in a blue moon at least – so as

to be able to reward ourselves for all that we have achieved! After all what

is the point of working hard, treating your children to luxury and spoiling

husbands or partners if we cannot lavish on ourselves.

I went to China – Hong Kong (the natives act like its separate from

mainland as they are surrounded by water) and had the pleasure of

enjoying a stay there with one of my good friends who is based in Kennedy

Town – so no hotel for me and more mulah in my pocket and gold cards to

the ready!

Harbour City as it is called holds a veritable throve of beautiful shops for

those with a taste for brands and luxury. For a girl it was a dream come

true – personally- I tend to be particular (not picky) about what I buy, this

is based on what my beloved father provided my mother and I with whilst

growing up, without knocking stores such as the High Street, Next, New

Look and all those hubs of mass produced affordable stores – I am not

used to those ... Make no mistake – I refuse to apologise for prefering

luxury brands that I bestow upon myself and also my family members -

particularly my favourite nephew Matthew on whom I shower expensive

time pieces.

Harbour City has gorgeous shops – there you will find mid range to high

end luxury names, I believe that the Sun Arcade within the shopping

complex has a 1881 heritage – it is like standing in a candy store with all of

your favourites in front of you – my advice is SHOP & SHOP!! It is good

but can be a little more expensive than the West – personally my holiday

was fun and relaxing, culturally enlightening and if I must mention my

favourite shopping spot in China – the its Guanzhou!!

CK store for women – is a beauty and held great designs and club wear

fashions that I would recommend to any fans of the brand.

After all stick to what you are used to, never apologise or feel guilty for

living your life to a certain standard which may well be higher than some

of your friends and acquaintances – I am too old to lower my ambitions

and expectations – Look Up and never DOWN!!

¡Los de nosotros que trabajen las horas largas y duras para pagar y para apoyar a nuestras

familias, niños y uno mismo - merecen un convite una vez en una luna azul por lo menos -

para poder recompensarse para todos que hemos alcanzado! Después de todo el cuál es el

punto del trabajo difícilmente, tratando a sus niños a los maridos o a los socios de lujo y de

estropeos si no podemos prodigar en nosotros mismos.

¡Fui a China - Hong Kong (los naturales actúan como su a parte del continente mientras

que el agua los rodean) y tenía el placer de gozar de una estancia allí con uno de mis buenos

amigos que se basa en la ciudad de Kennedy - tan ningún hotel para mí y más mulah en mis

tarjetas del bolsillo y del oro al listo!

La ciudad del puerto como se llama asimientos un verdadero prosperó de las tiendas

hermosas para ésos con un gusto para las marcas de fábrica y el lujo. Para una muchacha

era un sueño viene verdad - personalmente tiendo para ser particular (no picky) sobre qué

compro, esto se basa en lo que proveyó mi padre querido de mi madre e I mientras que

crece para arriba, sin golpear almacenes tales como la calle principal, la mirada siguiente,

nueva y todos esos cubos de almacenes comprables producidos en serie - no se utiliza a

ésos… No incurra en ninguna equivocación - rechazo disculparme por preferir las marcas

de fábrica de lujo que concedo sobre me y también mis miembros de la familia -

particularmente mi sobrino Matthew del favorito en quien riegue pedazos costosos del

tiempo.

¡La ciudad del puerto tiene tiendas magníficas - allí usted encontrará la gama mediados de

a los nombres de lujo del alto final, creo que la arcada del sol dentro del complejo de

compras tiene una herencia 1881 - él es como estar parado en un almacén del caramelo con

todos sus favoritos delante de usted - mi consejo es TIENDA y TIENDA!! ¡Es bueno pero

puede ser poco un más costoso que el oeste - personalmente mi día de fiesta eran la

diversión y el relajar, cultural aclarando y si debo mencionar mi punto de las compras del

favorito en China - el su Guanzhou!!

Almacén de CK para las mujeres - es una belleza y los grandes diseños llevados a cabo y el

club usan las maneras que recomendaría a cualquier ventilador de la marca de fábrica.

¡Después de todo el palillo a lo que le utilizan, nunca se disculpa o se siente que culpable

para vivir su vida a cierto estándar que puede manar sea más alto que algunos de sus

amigos y conocidos - soy demasiado viejo bajar mis ambiciones y expectativas - mire para

arriba y nunca ABAJO!!

This year’s Ladies Day at Ascot was lovely!

It was the usual myriad of silly hats, outstanding master

crafts and creation as well as the usual tasteful stylish pieces!

We have a collection of some of the most fantastic hats we

saw and even gain access to some best placed photographers

copies – just so you could get to look in at some of what we

saw.

We have to say that it was with great relief that we did not

have to endure the Silver Ring after our first and last

experience from that position and got to be at the better place

for this year’s event.

Fortunately the weather was better than the last time – that I

can tell you and Ladies Day Race opened with The Norfolk

Stakes.

June 19th 2014 was the Gold Cup, we had some great fun

placing our bets picking some winners and witnessing the

power and streangth of those beautiful jokeyed stallions that

literally passed/galloped by us at incredible speed., blink and

you would have missed it!

What made you decide to become a stylist and when did you start being self-employed?

I started my career as a Fashion stylist in February 2008. I had developed a strong feel for

Fashion as my parents were the proud owners of 2 boutiques of ready to wear in Paris.

Can you tell us how your work day begins?

My day usually begins with the to do list I put together every night. This allowes me to focus

on jobs according to priorities.

My job require a lot of research and preparation prior to a shoot, catwalk or exhibition. I

am constantly researching new designers, new trends,new inspirations to feed from in order

to produce interesting pieces of work.

When you find your clients how do you plan your story boards for photoshoots?

The story board will depend on the theme and the feel we are looking to achieve with the

images, for instance if a magazine is looking to produce an editorial themed about feminity I

will produce a couple of moodboards to interprete this theme, one could be soft and

romantic with floaty fabrics and the other one could be more sensual with representing a

woman fully emrassing her body and emotions. These are only two exemples but there are

millions of possible interpretation, therefore before putting moodboards tigather I will have

a long meeting with the client in order to assess their needs and clarify what they are

looking to achieve.

You recently just did another show at the Afro Hair and beauty Islington – How did you find

the designers and plan the show?

This years Afro hair show was definitely a great one, the designers were very excited to be

part of the event and to work with my team. I must say that I contacted a designers from my

contact list and most of then were keen on joining the event, it therefore come a first come

first served policy providing the quality of the designs produce reached the quality level I

expected.

Using the designers showcasing their garments in the boutique also on the run way was an

excellent way to redirect crowd to the boutique and for the designers to generate sales. It

was a great experience.

In doing your job do you attend any shows such as London Fashion Week or any other?

In order to do my job I regularly attend London and Paris fashion week to see the trends

that are coming up and view designers latest collection that I will potentially use on

photoshoots.

Can you tell us how you have found the journey to establishing your dreams?

I believe that to reach your dream in life you must be patient and consistent which is the

best way in my opinion to safely progress. The journey is long and full of challenges but I

am up for it .

Are every projects you undertake paid or unpaid. collaborations or just things you set up?

When I started my carrier, in order to build up my portfolio I did some unpaid work but

mostly collaborations as they are the ones that help you to build a database of contact. Now

a days has I have gotten more experience I mainly do paid assignments.

What has been the greatest achievement in your career in so far – what was your favourite

show, shoot or event you were responsible for?

I love all the projects I have worked on as they are all so different from one an other,

however if I had to choose one I will go with the latest event I organised a fashion show for

which was African Week at UNESCO in Paris. Each year this event is organised and I was

honoured when the Nigerian delegation offered me the opportunity to put together a

catwalk show on their behalf. A couple of days before that event I was working on Afro

Hair and Beauty Show that as well what a great experience because when I was younger I

use to go to this event to discover new hair products and now I got the opportunity to work

at the event.

Do you set up daily or annual goals to achieve or you just go with any opportunity coming

your way?

I would say that for me it is half half. There are some project that I do on a yearly basis so

every year they are already in my diary on top of that I will then add the opportunities that

are coming my way or that I have pitched for.

Finally – what is your next big move and advice you would like to give

anyone starting the same career?

The best advice would be to believe in yourself and never give up on

your dream if it is truly what you want to do. Hard work always pays.

¿Qué hizo que usted decide a sentir bien a un estilista y cuando lo hizo usted comienzan a ser

independiente?

Comencé mi carrera como estilista de la manera en febrero de 2008. Había desarrollado una

sensación fuerte para la manera pues mis padres eran los dueños orgullosos de 2 boutiques de listo

usar en París.

¿Puede usted decirnos cómo su día del trabajo comienza?

Mi día comienza generalmente con a hacer la lista que junto cada noche. Este allowes yo a centrarse

en trabajos según prioridades.

Mi trabajo requiere muchos de la investigación y de la preparación antes de un lanzamiento, de un

pasadizo o de una exposición. Estoy investigando constantemente a nuevos diseñadores, nuevas

tendencias, nuevas inspiraciones de alimentar desde para producir pedazos interesantes de trabajo.

¿Cuándo usted encuentra a sus clientes cómo usted planea a sus tableros de la historia para los

photoshoots?

El tablero de la historia dependerá del tema y de la sensación que estamos mirando para alcanzar

con las imágenes, por ejemplo si un compartimiento está mirando para producir un editorial themed

sobre feminidad produciré un par de moodboards al interprete este tema, uno podría ser suave y

romántico con las telas floaty y la otra podría ser más sensual con la representación de una mujer

completamente emrassing su cuerpo y emociones. Éstos son solamente dos exemples pero hay

millones de interpretación posible, por lo tanto antes de poner el tigather de los moodboards tendré

una reunión larga con el cliente para determinar sus necesidades y clarificar lo que él está mirando

para alcanzar.

¿Usted recientemente acaba de hacer otra demostración en el pelo y la belleza Afro Islington - cómo

usted encontró a diseñadores y planeó la demostración?

Esta demostración Afro del pelo de los años era definitivamente gran, excitaron a los diseñadores

muy para ser parte del acontecimiento y para trabajar con mi equipo. Debo decir que entré en

contacto con a diseñadores de mi lista del contacto y la mayor parte de después era afilado en

ensamblar el acontecimiento, él por lo tanto vengo una primera política primero servida venida que

proporciona la calidad de los diseños que el producto alcanzó el nivel de la calidad esperé.

Usar a los diseñadores showcasing su ropa en el boutique también en la manera del funcionamiento

era una manera excelente de volver a dirigir a muchedumbre al boutique y para que los diseñadores

generen ventas. Era una gran experiencia.

¿En hacer su trabajo usted atiende a demostraciones tales como semana de la manera de

Londres o a otra?

Para hacer mi trabajo atiendo regularmente semana de la manera de Londres y de París para ver

las tendencias que están subiendo y la colección más última de los diseñadores de la visión que

potencialmente utilizaré en photoshoots.

¿Puede usted decirnos cómo usted ha encontrado el viaje a establecer sus sueños?

Creo eso para alcanzar su sueño en vida que usted debe ser paciente y constante que es la mejor

manera de mi opinión de progresar con seguridad. El viaje es largo y lleno de desafíos pero soy

para arriba para él .

Son cada los proyectos que usted emprende pagado o sin pagar. ¿collaborations o cosas

justas que usted instaló?

Cuando encendí mi portador, para acumular mi lista hice un cierto trabajo sin pagar pero sobre

todo collaborations pues son los que le ayudan a construir una base de datos del contacto. Ahora

los días me tienen han conseguido más experiencia que hago principalmente asignaciones

pagadas.

¿Cuál ha sido el logro más grande de su carrera adentro hasta ahora - cuál eran su

demostración, lanzamiento o acontecimiento del favorito que usted era responsable de?

Amo todos los proyectos que he trabajado encendido pues son todos tan diferentes a partir un al

otro, sin embargo si tuve que elegir uno iré con el acontecimiento más último organicé una

demostración de la manera para la cual estaba la semana africana en la UNESCO en París. Este

acontecimiento se organiza cada año y me honraron cuando la delegación nigeriana me ofreció

la oportunidad de juntar una demostración del pasadizo en su favor. Un par de los días antes que

el acontecimiento yo trabajaba en el pelo Afro y la demostración de la belleza a que también

qué una gran experiencia porque cuando era más joven yo utilice ir a este acontecimiento a

descubrir productos de pelo nuevos y ahora yo consiguió la oportunidad de trabajar en el

acontecimiento.

¿Usted instala las metas diarias o anuales a alcanzar o usted justo fue con oportunidad que

viene su manera?

Diría que para mí es media mitad. Hay un cierto proyecto que hago sobre una base anual así que

cada año están ya en mi diario encima de ése que entonces agregaré las oportunidades que están

viniendo mi manera o para las cuales he echado.

¿Finalmente - cuál es su movimiento y consejo grandes siguientes que usted como daría

cualquier persona que comienza la misma carrera?

El mejor consejo sería creer en se y nunca dar para arriba en su sueño si es verdad lo que usted

desea hacer. El trabajo duro paga siempre.

they do not know that there are rules on

HOW to Wear those and what goes with

them.

The problem for most ladies – I assume is

that Women/girls have too many choices of

outfits and necklines such as sweetheart,

decollete, strapless, Round neck, square

neck and then some!!!

Now I assume you understand where I am

coming from With this article and the why it

is necessarry to write it.

Being in the fashion world, I see so many

young girls and women get this wrong that

it is cringe worthy to watch.

For instance when you wear a busy print

outfit, a necklace or pendant it is not

necessary – wear Statement Earrings instead

and of course your watch on the left hand!

Why? I hear some of you ask, think about it,

can you notice a diamond on a busy

background?

The human eye is a very peculiar and

sensitive organ – it always needs a point of

focus so if a background is BUSY do not

add anything on top of it as the brain cannot

register all that is going on and the eyes will

seek to find a point of rest!!

The watch on the left hand is a thing of

Class and Not fashion. The only people

that can get away with a watch on the right

hand are Left Handed people! As there is

still a thing such as Etiquette and Class,

left handed people are also urged to keep

that watch on their left wrists.

So now that all these explanations have been

given, lest talk about those females who

wear statement necklaces/pendants with

statement earrings that are not part of a set!

Regardless ladies, that is not the done thing

- if you are going to wear 2 lots of

statement jewellery items on your person –

IT SHOULD ONLY BE A MATCHING

SET!!! Even if your knick knacks are of the

same shade/colour it is not Acceptable!

This is nothing personal, and I understand

that not all people are born with advantage

and ilk but these rules exist for a reason and

Todos sabemos la historia todo demasiado

familiar de las reglas para las muchachas y

cómo se presentan. ¡El equipo tiene que

ir con los zapatos y el bolso, pero

todavía los muchos de señoras lo

consiguen incorrecto o arruinan

el equipo perfecto con los accesorios

incorrectos!

Los muchos de señoras no saben usar

los colgantes, los reguladores de aire, los

collares etc porque no saben que hay reglas

en CÓMO usar ésos y qué va con ellos.

¡El problema para la mayoría de las

señoras - asumo soy que las mujeres/las

muchachas tienen demasiadas opciones de

equipos y de necklines tales como amor,

decollete, cuello strapless, redondo, cuello

cuadrado y entonces algo!!!

Ahora asumo que usted entiende adonde

estoy viniendo con de este artículo y

porqué es necessarry escribirlo.

Estando en el mundo de la manera, veo así

que muchas muchachas y mujeres jóvenes

conseguir este mal que sea cringe digno

para mirar.

¡Por ejemplo cuando usted usa un equipo

ocupado de la impresión, un collar o un

colgante no es necesario - use los

pendientes de la declaración en lugar de

otro y por supuesto su reloj en la mano

izquierda! ¿Por qué? ¿Oigo que él

pregunta, que piensa por él, puede usted

notar un diamante en un fondo ocupado?

¡El ojo humano es un órgano muy peculiar y

que reloj en sus muñecas izquierdas.

¡Tan ahora que se han dado todas estas

explicaciones, a fin de hable de esas hembras

que usen los collares/los colgantes de la

declaración con los pendientes de la

declaración que no son parte de un sistema!

¡Las señoras indiferentes, de que no son la

I am Vanisha, born and raised in Clapham in London. After gaining multiple GCSEs I went

straight to work at 16 doing an apprenticeship in Vidal Sassoon Salons for a few years. After

gaining my NVQ 2 and 3 qualifications in Hairdressing and working in various salons in

London, I changed career became a dancer a mixture of pole dance and burlesque. Some

years and one son later I decided to go back to college shortly after my maternity leave was up

and studied a Diploma in Fashion Business at Fashion Retail Academy in London and

graduated with a Merit. After various work placements within the fashion industry I found

myself wanting to get more involved with the creative side of fashion so I enrolled at

Kensington and Chelsea for a BTEC in Millinery and after managed to secure freelance work

with some great London based top designers working on their seasonal collections hand

finishing hats and headpieces and of course during this time would get personal custom

requests from friends and clients to make pieces on request.

I design and make hats with a sophisticated and retro feel for a modern woman I produce

samples first then pieces in limited runs to exhibit at craft fairs in London and burlesque

shows. All pieces are made to order and handmade by myself from my home studio in Brixton.

My favourite materials to work with are wool felts, silks and sinamay also during the winter

months I would make hand knitted hats for both men and women and accessories which all

have a unique touch to them as I design my own knit patterns too.

With my background in Hairdressing I approach the Art of Millinery to design specifically to

enhance the wearer's features and to complement the wearer's outfit or personal style whether

it be a special occasional piece or for everyday wear."I believe that hats are an emotive

accessory that people respond to!”

We originally could not decide whether to write to you about UK with places covering the

Tour the France, but on the next edition we will bring this to you with some haunts for those
