The Istyle collection renders homage to the German Bauhaus movement. The Bauhaus school that named the movement existed from 1919 to 1933, and has been one of the most influential in modernist architecture and modern art and design. The groundbreaking focus was based on simplified forms and unadorned, functional designs for the masses.

Also the renowned Scandinavian design tradition is founded on the principles of the Bauhaus movement, only interpreted in a characteristic, Nordic way. Our aim is to create archetypical products based on this heritage; a strong focus on function, simple shapes and forms, and details that are determined by a balanced combination of rational arguments and aesthetics. We trust that archetypical designs combined with high quality and durability will secure long life cycles of our products, which is a simple way of paying attention to the environmental concerns that we are all facing.

THE DELUXE STYLINGSThe combination of chrome and leather is a signature of the Bauhaus school furniture, which the DELUXE upholstery styling is designed to fit. The covers are originally composed of smaller pieces of leather sewn together in carefully designed patterns to fit each individual design. This principle is designed to minimize waste and reduce price, one of the defining, rational principles of the Bauhaus school. The Istyle collection is not using genuine leather, but a high quality textile leather characterized by a stunning look, easy maintenance and high durability. The Istyle DELUXE cover is carefully attached to the frame by neat series of pull downs, which ensure that the furniture will always appear 100% precise and exact. The covers of the DELUXE styling are not detachable.

Last year we introduced a series of woven textiles in order to add a new dimension to the DELUXE styling and we are happy to see the warm welcome it has received. In this collection you will find both new colors and new woven textures.

SLEEK STYLINGS OVERVIEWThe new SLEEK styling applies a more pure and clean look to the sofas by using large undivided surfaces of textiles. As an extra advantage the SLEEK covers are detachable and designed for dry cleaning. Since the SLEEK covers are not attached to the sofa frames you must expect a slightly casual look during use, as the textiles can stretch and the upholstery compress depending on your use.

Metal tables with lacquered table top, legs in chromed steel in optional heights of 7”, 11” or 15”. Table tops 24”x24” available in black, orange, red, yellow and white. 24”x40” table tops available in black, red and white.

The Excess version of the Icomfort pocket spring upholstery is a deluxe version that has been created for those who prefer a softer sitting comfort and a softer mattress for sleeping. Also, the Excess solution adds a different look to the product.

The Icomfort Excess pocket spring has a total height of approximately 10”.

A combination of quality steel frames and quality pocket springs topped with a layer of quality foam and a layer of heavy fibre fill.

The Icomfort Light pocket spring has a total height of approximately 6”.

ICOMFORT POCKET SPRING

Flemming Hoejfeldt was born in 1950 in Denmark and is the owner and CEO of Innovation. The inventive and multi-skilled entrepreneur founded the company back in 1971, where he functioned successfully as designer, engineer and production manager in one. His first design was the Delta-bag, which in 2006 was re-launched as the Player beanbag. Today he has specialised staff, but as a truly autodidact person, Flemming Hoejfeldt still keeps an eye on every step of the process at Innovation, and is happy to take the challenge, whenever obstacles occur. He keeps his feet on the ground and yet never misses a good opportunity to develop design or business. Flemming Hoejfeldt is the driving power behind the worldwide expansion of Innovation as well as several good design ideas.

Jens Vang was born in 1973 in Denmark. He graduated from the Aarhus School of Architecture in 2000, and already during his industrial design studies, he started working for Innovation. Contributing with a creative mind and colourful ideas, like the Combination Table. From 2001 he worked for Weiss Design Works before he started his own company, DobberDesign, in 2003. The same year he won a design competition advertised by the famous Danish furniture company Fritz Hansen with his chair ”Attitude”. Since 2007 he has been responsible for the gents collection of Pilgrim – sunglasses, watches and jewellery.

Andreas Lund was born in 1969 in Denmark. At Innovation he has contributed to the design process of the popular sofa beds Wing and Puzzle. He started his career as an organ builder before he studied at the Danish School of Design, where he graduated in 2000. Thanks to his talent, Andreas Lund has been rewarded with numerous design funds and prizes. With his own company, Format Design, he has created both furniture and product design for several Danish companies and participated in various exhibitions. Today he is moreover teaching at the Danish School of Design and the School of Architec-ture in Copenhagen.

Per Weiss was born in 1959 in Denmark and is the Director of Innovation Design Office Internatio-nal. As an all-round creative person, he started his career as a professional musician, while already studying at the School of Architec-ture in Aarhus. Then giving a higher priority to his design visions, he worked for some of the famous Danish architects, Friis & Moltke and Schmidt-Hammer & Lassen. In 1988 he graduated as an industrial designer. Since 1989 Per Weiss has been the head of Innovation Design Office and responsible for concept, product design and marketing. Per Weiss likes to express his creativity on a variety of platforms:“My approach to industrial design is multiple and holistic. Design cannot be seen as an isolated mission and the creative process should not be fragmentised by artificial professio-nal boundaries. This is why I work full scale conceptual, starting with strategy and trendspotting over design and graphics to photography and layout. Inspiration and insight grows out of this dynamic working situation, shaping designs that actually affect the target group.”
