From the Desk of the Director of Golf:Valued Members, Happy Holidays! It’s amazing to think that 2017 is right around the corner! It’s been a great year here at Innisbrook and I’m looking forward to even better things in the coming year. Please mark your calendars for our Holiday Member Merchandise Sale that will be on Friday, December 2 from 12pm-7pm, Saturday, December 3 from 8am-5pm and Sunday, December 4 from 10am-5pm located in STIRLING HALL. This will be a fantastic Sale that you won’t want to miss. In addition to the incredible deals and savings, much of the merchandise was purchased specifically for this Member Sale so an excellent opportunity to purchase never before seen Innisbrook logoed apparel and goods.

I’m happy to announce a change in our Driving Range Schedule. Since the installation of the mats on the North and South Driving Range we have been Mats Only Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday’s. We have since modified that schedule to now only be on the Mats Monday and Tuesday’s. This will give everyone an extra day each week to practice off the grass.

Finally, I’d like to thank our Members for the overwhelming support that you’ve shown already this season regarding Tournament participation. The newly renamed McAdams Cup (formally IMGA Ryder Cup) sold out in one day! We actually added additional spots increasing the number of players from 32 to 44. The Member Guest Event in January sold out in less than 2 weeks! It’s this type of support that makes it possible for us to enhance and increase our Membership Events, so on behalf of myself and our entire staff, Thank you!

Have a Safe and Happy Holiday and look forward to seeing you all at the Member Sale.

“ From Within the Tee Box” By Director of Golf Instruction Dawn Mercer

Go LOW to go LOW:

To better your odds around the green, keep the ball low whenever possible.

As a rule…1st Option Putt the ball, then opt to chip, then pitch. Too often we are making big swings with too many moving parts that can add to disaster. Also avoid flipping you hands, lifting the posture or falling backwards to assist the ball up. Select the right club and ball position for the trajectory.

For shorter layup shots in the fairway, punch the ball with a longer iron low versus make a full swing with a short iron high in the air, again more predictable and easier to control.

“Dine Well” with Executive Chef Thomas McKinney-Stehr

Christmas CookiesTaking off work, eating (and drinking) too much, spending time with family… It’s what we all look forward to during the holidays. In my house we are bake cookies from scratch to begin the Holiday season. The whole family gathers in the kitchen; my wife Ursula, my daughter Michelle, and my son Thomas are helping hands. My wife Ursula takes the lead and tells the rest of the family what to do. With this being one of my favorite times of the year I would love to share some German cookie recipes that have been in our family for many years.

Cinnamon Stars (Zimtsterne)Ingredients:

Method of preparation: Almonds, powder sugar and cinnamon mix together. Add 2 egg whites and amaretto mix all very well with your hand mixer. Use your hands to mix on a table surface to create even dough. Roll out dough to a ¼ inch and cut out your stars. Add the stars to a parchment paper covered baking tray. Wisk the egg white very stiff and add powder sugar slowly to egg white. Add your egg white glace to the Cinnamon stars with a brush. Bake in a preheated oven by 300F for 10-15 minutes.

17.5oz Almonds 10.5oz powder sugar 2tsp cinnamon

2 egg whites 2tbsp Amaretto

For the glace: 1 egg white 4.5oz powder sugar
