The financial crisis has severely damaged the reputation of the financial industry, including ING. In my role as CEO designate of this company, I am very well aware that our license to operate heavily depends on our ability to restore public confidence in ING. Therefore, while steering ING through these turbulent times, I consider it my obligation to continuously take the broader social and environmental impacts of our business into account. Irresponsible, unethical and unsustainable behavior will be less and less tolerated. I am confident that this will provide a major boost to environmentally friendly production methods and enhance sustainable behavior across the globe

Jan Hommen, Chairman and CEO, ING Group

I am proud to have the opportunity to contribute to ING Chances for Children. If we want our next generation to be able to grow up in a safe, healthy and prosperous world and if we want to find answers to global challenges, I believe we need to join forces and make it happen

Hans van der Noordaa, CEO, Insurance Europe and Asia/Pacific

For India to complete its development, the large population living at or below the poverty line must emerge to play a full part in that development. While we cannot expect to immediately solve such a large problem, every child we help educate and every person we help to finance their future is a step in the right direction

Vaughn Richtor, CEO, Retail Banking, Asia

Registered on the 8th day of October 2004, ING Vysya Foundation is a Trust

under the Company’s Act 1956. The vision of the Trust is to facilitate enabling

environment that actualises the right to education for children living in difficult

circumstances. The foundation believes that inspiration, encouragement and skills can

change the way these children see their lives and opportunities.

Born out of three business entities of ING in India- ING Life Insurance, ING Vysya

Bank, ING Investment Management, the Foundation has been able to strike the

right balance between supporting organisations financially, and contributing time

and effort of the employees to mentor these children for a better future. Today the

Foundation partners with eight local organisations in India. It contributes hugely

to the global initiative – ING Chances for Children in partnership with UNICEF.

The Foundation has been able to support 1 lakh children all over India to be in school,

with the active support of employees across the ING entities in India.
