Epson acquires K-Sun Corporation Seiko Epson Corporation has announced it had acquired Somerset, Wisconsin-based K-Sun Corporation, a supplier of award-winning portable and desktop electronic label printers. The acquisition of K-Sun, with its more than three decades of ex-perience in the industrial identifications solutions market, will provide Epson with broader access to labelling customers and influencers as well as expand the com-pany’s presence in the industrial labelling market.After supplying K-Sun with label printers on an OEM basis for two decades, Epson believes that acquiring its partner will en-able it to better serve industrial customers with the ever expanding line of Epson label printing solutions - from the desktop to the

Channel market in 2014It was almost a flat year for the In-dian PC market in general. However, we saw a growth in market share for GIGABYTE motherboards, because of the consolidation taking place among motherboard vendors, with a couple of major players and also, Intel quitting the motherboard business. We have seen a flurry of activities in the Tier 2 and Tier 3 regions, because there is still a huge market in these regions that is yet to be properly tapped. To cut things short, business from non-metro is increasing steadily, but still there is lot of room to be covered. In the immediate past, we have seen lap-tops, tablets, and smart phones taking away the PC market share to an extent. But 2014 showed there is a demand for compact, mobile options for digital devices. To converge the computing de-vices with compact size, these new form factor devices will definitely see growth in the future. Landmark moments in 2014 We are in the process of raising the bar in post-sales service efficiency, by open-ing a state-of-the-art, expansive service centres in major IT hubs across India, of which the Mumbai centre is already opened. For our partners, we have offered a wide variety of GIGABYTE 9 Series moth-erboards, based on the Intel Z97/H97 chipsets, and which cater to different categories of end-users.
