Bambang Sugestiyadi Staf Pengajar Fakultas Teknik UNY ABSTRACT Yogyakarta could be the mirror of "Nusantara" since it had been accumulated with people from all around the Nusantara for education. It gradually grow into semi metropolis city, where new physical facilities developed. There for physical facilities are needed. This research was conducted to know the minimalism architecture style implemented in house development in Yogyakarta. The research was' carried out on qualitative design. Data is collected through observation, visualization, skates maker, photo documentation and deeply interview. Relevant documentation from other connected departments was taken. Data is analyzed with inductive method: it does not mean to reveal hypothesis but it is focused to make an abstract. Triangulation was conducted to test data validity. The results showed that: (a) House and housing development until 2004 decade still dominated by Mediteran Style, Tropical House Style and Classical House Style with ornaments, (b) The Minimalism House Style in architecture focuses on essential and functional aspects. The Minimalism Style dominated by basic geometrical forms without ornament or decoration; It began to grow since 2004 to 2006, in Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta. PENDAHULUAN Perkembangan gaya arsitektur terus berputar seiring dengan berkembangnya kemajuan teknologi serta berubahnya tuntutan dari kebutuhan masyarakat. Arsitektur minimalis yang tengah marak saat ini sebenarnya bukan bentuk arsitektur baru. Sejak awal tahun 1920- an sampai bersinar kembali pada tahun 1990-an telah hadir dengan faktor pemicu, interpretasi dan aplikasi iiimpl,icity" yang khas dari satu arsitek dengan arsiteklainnya. Sebenarnya, Le Corbusier dan Ludwig Mies van der Rohe adalah dua dari sekian banyak arsitek yang 21 memberi pengaruh warna kesederha- naan (simplicity) yang signifikan dalam dinamika arsitektur minimalis sejak dulu hingga kini. Kritikus sent Juan Carlos Rego dalam buku Minimalism .. Design Source, meng- ungkapkan, minimalis merupakan pendekatan estetika yang mencer- minkan kesederhanaan. Fenomena ini tumbuh di berbagai bidang, seperti seni lukis, patung, interior, arsitektur, mode dan musik. Akan tetapi awal pertumbuhan dan faktor pemicu tumbuhnya berbagai bidang bersifat khas dan tidak dapat digeneralisasi.

ABSTRACT

Yogyakarta could be the mirror of "Nusantara" since it had beenaccumulated with people from all around the Nusantara for education. Itgradually grow into semi metropolis city, where new physical facilitiesdeveloped. There for physical facilities are needed. This research wasconducted to know the minimalism architecture style implemented inhouse development in Yogyakarta.

The research was' carried out on qualitative design. Data iscollected through observation, visualization, skates maker, photodocumentation and deeply interview.
