Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce
and Industry (FICCI), an apex industry association,
has organized several training & education programmes
in all major industrial sectors in coordination with
accredited Indian and global agencies. Disaster
Management has been selected by FICCI to raise
awareness of the industrial sector and of NGOs,
District & State Authorities including Statutory
Agencies as well as all the stakeholders in the
community who are most vulnerable during disasters.

Economic Advisory Council to the Prime
Minister (EAC-PM): Economic Advisory Council to
the Prime Minister (EAC-PM) was constituted w.e.f
26th September 2017. The functions of the EAC-PM
inter alia include addressing the issues of
macroeconomic importance. Keeping in view that the
industrial units in various segments play a major role in
economic development of the country and that not
only huge investments are made in establishing these
industrial units but also large number of employees and
contract workers are involved at every stage of these
units, EAC-PM has accepted the request of the
Chemical Industrial Disaster management (CIDM)
Board to support CIDM Conferences.
Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board
(PNGRB), India was established in 2007 subsequent to
an Act of Parliament. The objectives of the board are
to regulate refining, processing, storage, transportation,
distribution, marketing and sale of petroleum,
petroleum products & natural gas, excluding
production of crude oil & natural gas. One of the
functions of the Board is to regulate technical
standards and specifications including safety standards.

National Disaster Management Authority
(NDMA), Government of India was constituted in Sept,
2005 consequent to enactment of Disaster
Management Act, 2005. Hon'ble Prime Minister of India
is ex-officio Chairman of NDMA. NDMA, as per its
inter alia mandate, has brought out National Guidelines
on (i) Chemical (Industrial) Disaster Management
(CIDM) (ii) Chemical (Terrorism) Disaster
Management; the objective of the guidelines is to
strengthen prevention, mitigation and preparedness
measures; minimize accidents; and set up an effective
mechanism to respond to disasters. For further details,

The conference on Chemical & Industrial Disaster
Management is being successfully conducted for last ten
years under the Chairmanship of Lt Gen (Dr) J R
Bhardwaj, PVSM AVSM VSM PHS (Retd), Chairman
CIDM and Former Member, National Disaster
Management Authority, Government of India, New
Delhi. Under this program 32 Conferences/Workshops
and Mock Drills have been conducted in various
regions of the country.
