authorities and loved ones when trouble arises and the user is unable to

communicate. In other words, it is the app your mother/best friend/significant

    other wishes you had.

SecQme works when the user registers an event and its associated end time

such as a road trip to visit a friend in another state. At the end of the event, the

user will check in with SecQme. If the user is unable to check in with secQme

by the programmed time, the app will call and send text messages to the user-appointed contacts. Messages will be sent even if the phone is no

longer on, making secQme one of the most proactive personal security applications on the market. This application works with Android and iPhones,

and could have uses during travel, exercise, and other daily activities. Anyone can use this app, but it could be especially helpful for people who find

themselves isolated throughout the day, women, or the elderly.

Mr. Khoos background as a Certified Java Architect with professional experience in the IT world was fundamental to ensuring secQmes high quality

and readiness for the marketplace. Taking the next step to increase membership for his new application and fund further growth of his business,

Mr. Khoo applied to the CRDF Global GIS Tech-I Grant Competition. In December 2011, judges at this international Battle of Ideas held in Istanbul,

Turkey awarded Mr. Khoo the first runner-up prize of a $10,000 grant to support his work with secQme.

Cathleen Campbell, President and CEO of CRDF Global states that the aim

of the grant competition is to inspire young entrepreneurs by helping them

to advance their technology ideas. As the first runner-up, Mr. Khoo also will

be flying to the United States later this year where he is optimistic about the

prospects of finding investors. The chance to go [to the United States] is

great I may be able to find a partner, says Mr. Khoo. In addition to grant

competitions, GIST also supports entrepreneurs through business plan

acompetitions, online and offline training programs and university industry

    partnerships.

Now more than ever, we live in a mobile and individualized society and maynot be near our loved ones or friends if accidents, medical problems, or

crimes occur. Now more than ever we need innovations such as secQme by

    entrepreneurs like James Khoo Chen.

ABOUTAbout The Indonesia Green Innovation Pilot Program

The Indonesia Green Innovation Pilot Program is the first of its kind with the objective to learn how Indonesia and other countries

    - can build the capacity to accelerate green and inclusive innovation.

The Program is piloting a new approach to spark innovation in clean energy technologies in Indonesia. A team of local and global

partners are experimenting with principles of open innovation, co-creation, human-centered design and market facilitation to

develop commercially viable clean energy solutions tailored to the needs of low-income rural communities in Indonesia and across

the world. The pilot program is focused on the concept of innovation tournaments, whereby a large pool of ideas and market players

compete for increasing support in successive stages of development. The concept is based on thorough exploration of proposed clean

technology ventures and then provides the most promising ideas with scaled-up support they need.

Supported by the Norwegian Trust Fund for Private Sector and Infrastructure, The Asia Sustainable and Alternative Energy Program

and The World Bank, the program supports green innovation through the implementation of two distinct subprograms:

    1. The Indonesia Green Entrepreneurship Subprogram

    2. The Indonesia Demand-Driven Green Innovation Subprogram

The Startup Boot Camp and the following day of mentorship and venture pitching kicks off the Indonesia Green Entrepreneurship

Subprogram (IGE). The IGE Subprogram is truly a result of partnership. The Boot Camp was made possible through partnerships that

include the following members: The GIST Initiative, which is a part of the non-profit CRDF Global, which implements programs on

behalf of the State Department the local partner, Business Innovation Center in Jakarta which has been instrumental in conveningthe entrepreneurs to participate in the program and in hosting this event. The Apex Consulting Group which has partnered with The

World Bank to provide much of the framework for the ongoing mentorship program and for involving local clean technology mentors

    and entrepreneurs.
