WORK STATION EXPECTATIONS
• Heterogeneous grouping will be used.
• You must work!• Be respectful!• Make responsible choices!• Work cooperatively!• Remain in your own stations.• Complete your logs and tasks!• If you finish early, keep working!
WHAT TO DO IF YOU NEED HELP?
1. Try three times on your own.

WORD SEARCH STATION• Search words from the academic
vocabulary list in the textbook.• Search only for the words of the day.• Create a word map for each word.
• Frayer Model• Find the words in the story.• Write the page number and read the
sentence you found the word used in.• Test each other’s knowledge of the
word meanings.
LISTENING WORK STATION• Listen to the story • (Circle of Friends).
• Complete a listening log.• Complete a partner fluency
check.• Discuss the story with your
partners.
MAPPING WORK STATION• Select type of organizer you
will be using (Venn Diagram, Circle Map)
• Explore the topic and complete the organizer.
• Use the promethean board for your brainstorming; after, transfer your completed thinking map on paper.
• Discuss your choice.
WRITING WORK STATION• Use Cornell notes to respond
to questions from the story.• Complete all the workbook
activities from the pages read.
• Compare your notes with your partners.
READING WORK STATION • Read a book in the book
nook.• You can read with a buddy
or read alone. • Complete a reading log or
write a book review.• Draw your favorite part of
what you read.
COMPUTER WORK STATION
• Logon to FCAT Explorer.• You will start at level 3.• Once you complete a stage
you will move on to the next stage.
• Ask questions if you are not sure!
PEER TUTORING WORK STATION
• Help each other to complete ALL assigned tasks from ALL stations.
• Ask questions if you are not sure.• The teacher will guide you if you
need more help.
COOPERATIVE LEARNING ROLES
Manager• Keeps the group on task• Makes sure everyone has
a chance to participate and offer ideas.
