INCA Add-on CAN-Transmit
Overview
Transfer ECU Data from INCA to other SW Applications
− The INCA Add-on CAN-Transmit helps to send out any measured signal from
an INCA experiment via a CAN-Device
− Use any ETAS CAN-HW that supports BOA* for sending
− Recommended HW: ES581.4
− Use Case: Couple INCA with another measurement system
− Send e.g. ETK-signals to the measurement system
− No need for ASAP3, iLinkRT or EtherCAT implementation
− Or reduce load on ASAP3 interface of a test bench system
− Use ASAP3 to only start an INCA experiment remotely
*: ES590/690 and ES1222 are supported but not recommended

Transmit Performance
Performance Measurement
− Measurement configuration with ES592 (ECU access) and ES581.3 (CAN-
Transmit):
− Performance depends on target server cycle time
(setting in INCA options)
− Maximum transfer rate per signal: 10ms

INCA Add-on CAN-Transmit
1. Step: Create DBC-File
DBC-Generator: a convenient creation of DBC files from INCA experiment• All measurement signals from the current experiment can be selected for sending• Select transfer rate individually per signal• Define Message-ID and byte-order for the DBC-file

2. Step: Structure of the DBC-File
It is possible to use an own dbc-file, but only frames that are marked as „INCA“ are usedto generate the output channels

3. Step: Assignment of the DBC-File to the CAN-Transmit Device
Hardware configuration:• Select CAN device in HWC• Assign CAN dbc-file• Set parameters:
• Default value• Start message sending• Generate output channel

Generate Output Channel Names from DBC-Comment
The names of dbc-signals are limited to 32 characters, longer names for output channelscan be used if the parameter „Generate output channel from comment“ is set to „Yes“
The generated dbc-file contains the original signal name in the comment section
