The Facility.

The INB Performing Arts Center was built in 1974 for the World’s Fair Expo ’74. It is a multi-purpose auditorium with 2700 seats, continental style, on 3 levels. The seating capacities are: 1803 on the orchestra Level, 476 on the Terrace Level, 345 on the Balcony Level, and 76 within the Orchestra Pit. The Facility is owned and operated by the Spokane Public Facilities District.

BACKSTAGE FACILITIES

Loading Dock. 2 truck loading dock, 3’ 4” high x 26’ wide, at the rear of the Opera house, enables you to load/unload into the staging area located upstage left through a 12ft high x 18ft wide roll-up door. (Fig. #1 & 2). Storage & Work Areas. There is a 24’ x 28’ enclosed staging area with a 13.5’ ceiling height just inside the loading dock that can be separated from the stage area with a 2nd roll up door if needed. This area can be used as storage, workshop etc. once move in is complete. (Fig. #2). Located off stage left is approximately a 36’ x 55’ area for scene storage, work area, etc. Height limited by stage left pin rail platform at approx. 35’ (Fig. #3). Below the stage is a 66’ x 14’ instrument storage & musicians warm up area accessible only by the orchestra pit elevator or by a single door stairway. Some house equipment is stored in this area. (Fig. #12) Orchestra Shell. The in house orchestra shell is a “Wenger Diva” shell that consists of 7 - 32’ high walls and 4 ceiling pieces that are hung from the counterweight arbor system. When needed, ceiling pieces can be stored all the way upstage on fixed chain motors and, the walls off stage in the USL storage area when not in use. (Fig. #16). Orchestra Pit. Crescent shaped, approximately 60’ wide by 15’ deep @ center and 8’ deep on each end. It is equipped with a hydraulic operated lifting platform which lifts from a low point of 10 feet below stage level to a high point level with the stage. There are no stage traps or stage elevators. The orchestra pit has a capacity of 76 sellable seats that includes 2 for disabled seating. (Fig. # 4). Music Room The 2700 sq. ft. Music Room is located in the Opera House and is suitable for meetings, conferences, musical events, formal receptions, and rehearsals. Entry is through the Opera House lobby or from the backstage area. The Music Room is NOT ADA accessible. Call for availability & rates. (Fig. #13). Power 3 – 400 amp 3 phase 5-wire 120\208 down stage right for lighting. Lug tie in. 1 – 400 amp 3 phase 5-wire 120\208 down stage left for sound. Lug tie in. 1 – 200 amp 3 phase 5-wire 120\208 up stage left. Camlock tie in. 2 – 60 amp 3 phase 5-wire 120\208 at loading dock for shore power. Lug tie in. (Tied into 200 amp USL service). 1 – 200 amp 3 phase 5-wire 120\208 up stage right. Camlock tie in only with 4 – L21-30, thirty amp, 3phase twist locks on the side. 1 – 100 amp 3 phase 5-wire 120\208 up stage right. Camlock tie in only with 2 – L21-20, twenty amp, 3 phase twist locks on the side. Forklifts / Manlifts. 1 – Forklift, 2000lb capacity, 48”forks with sideshift, propane powered. 1 – Genie Lift, 30’ battery powered, single man, 300lb capacity. Water. 17” x 13” x 12” deep sink with hot & cold running water off stage left.

Dressing Rooms & Green Room. Located off stage right, high speed internet and phone lines are available in some areas upon request. Charges apply. Main Floor. 2 Star dressing rooms, 2 four place dressing rooms, with shower & toilet in rooms. (Fig. # 5 & 6).

19’ x 19’ Green room with access to house and to backstage. Usually used for production, stage managers, etc. (Fig. # 7).

1 men’s & 1 women’s restroom. Second floor. We currently do not have elevator access to the 2nd & 3rd floors. 1 ton hoist available for equipment delivery to upper floors via dbl doors on each level.(Fig. # 14). 2 chorus dressing rooms, 1 twelve person & 1 eighteen person. (Fig. # 8 & 9). 1 men’s & 1 women’s restroom with sinks, mirrors & shower. 1 – 16’x 20’ wardrobe room with 3 washers & dryers. (Fig. # 10). Third Floor. 1 – 37’ x 46’ open space for wardrobe, warm-up, catering, etc. (Fig. # 11). You must walk through this area to gain access to grid & catwalk systems. No restrooms or water on this floor. 1 ton hoist available for equipment delivery to upper floors via dbl doors on each level.(Fig. # 14).

House Audio Equipment Front Of House Mix Positions. 2 positions, located at the rear of the house, orchestra level, all the way house right & left. Both locations are 16’ wide x 7’6”deep. Typical set up is sound on house right & lighting from the lighting booth at the rear of the house, orchestra level. Stage DMX Lighting Control available in booth. Approx. 250’ of snake needed to reach down stage from these locations. (See Picture Below). A position at center can be made if seats are removed. Location ends up being about 14’ wide x 11’ deep. Approx. 350’ of snake needed to reach down stage from this location. Use of this location must be confirmed BEFORE tickets are placed on sale. Seats killed are; Row AA seats 33-40, Row BB seats 33-39, Row CC seats 1-33.

House Left Mix Position / House Right Is The Same

Main Cluster. The Spokane Opera House is equipped with a Meyer Self Powered MSL-4 based system. It is flown in a stereo configuration with each side consisting of 4 MSL-4’s, 2 DF-4’s, 2 UPA-1P’s & 4 M1D’s for front fill of the orchestra pit, and 2 HP-700 Subs permanently rigged at center. This system is controlled by the Meyer Galileo Control System. The House mix position is out in the open, located on the Terrace Level, all the way house right. Consoles. FOH is a Crest GTX 52 x 8 x 3 LCR console. 4 Monitor mixes available to stage from FOH. 40 channel Soundcraft Spirit Monitor console for on stage. Orchestra Shell. The in house orchestra shell is a “Wenger Diva” shell that consists of 7 - 32’ high walls and 4 ceiling pieces that are hung from the counterweight arbor system. When needed, ceiling pieces can be stored all the way upstage on fixed chain motors and, the walls off stage in the USL storage area when not in use. (Fig. # 16). Choir Risers. We have 9 three step risers with back rails. We also have 7 fourth step additions for them. Assistive Listening System. We use a “Listen Technologies” FM Broadcast system. Receivers & headsets available at our Guest Services Office.

House Lighting Equipment.

Lighting Control System. ETC Sensor Dimming Racks, 384 channels, all 20 amp circuits. ETC Expression Lighting Consoles. Lighting control can be from the FOH lighting booth or off stage right. DMX connections in booth so system can be accessed by road gear if needed. FOH Lighting Booth. This booth is 15’w x 10’d and is located behind the orchestra level seating at center and is raised above the seats. This is the preferred location for road show since no seat kills are needed. It’s a distance of 117’ 6” from the front edge of the stage, has a sliding glass window (10’6’w x 3’ h) and is equipped with a sink & toilet. Spotlight Booth Located behind the 2nd balcony wall at center, a distance of 117’ 6” horizontally from the front edge of the stage. Approximately 13’ x 25’ and is enclosed. (Fig. # 15 & 17). House Spotlights. 2 Lycian model #1290 2k and, 1 Lycian model #1278 2.5k. There is room and power available for an additional spotlight if needed. (Fig. # 17).
