Editors Corner

Grand Opening Celebration

Dear Members,

I don't know about you, but when I went into the new location to shop, I was blown away! We now look and feel like a real grocery shop. Oh don't get me wrong, the friendly people and serivice is still happening, but now we added convenience and room to move to the mix. There is even a small table to sit down and chat with old friends you may run into while shopping.

Kudos to all the members that helped make the move happen and readied the store for the busy holiday season.

In this edition of the Newsletter you'll find some impotant announcments. Be sure to look on Page 4 for all the important upcoming meetings and information on the Grand Opening Event. We're still planning on just how to celebrate, but Nancy will keep us all updated via her wonderful email blasts.

This is a new year and a new look for the Coop. Spices, coffee, grains and cereals are now out for you to service for yourself, but remember to put the per pound price on your container, box or bag. Also, don't forget to get your tare before you fill-up.

I'm looking for some new recipes for our March/April newsletter. If you have something to share, email me at [email protected].

Happy Holidays.

Debra Pearlman,Editor

Dear Members,

The holidays are behind us, the new building is beginning to feel like home and there is a new year ahead of us. We have set the date for our "Grand Opening" celebration for Saturday Feb 20th. It will be great to celebrate all that we have accomplished in these last few months. Watch for celebration sales, demos, tastings, raffles and live music!!

Here's to a happy and healthy new year!

Nancy

Message From the Board

Our moving date, November 8, 2009, has come and gone but the excitement is ever present. My individual enthusiasm for the Co-op has been directly influenced by the dedication and hard work put in by many members of the Co-op family throughout the entire relocation process.

I would like to personally thank our contractors for the excellent work they have done, and for bearing with me during my highly caffeinated days that I thought would never end.

THANK YOU

Co-op Delivery Schedule

Shift Cancellation Policy! Unfortunately, we still have had many (too many) last minute shift cancellations and even a few “no shows”, prompting the Board to initiate two new policies.

1) If you fail to show up when scheduled for a shift and you did not call in advance, a “no show”, unless it is a verifiable emergency, you will be required to make up the shift you missed, plus an extra shift.

2) If you cancel your shift/work time less than 72 hours prior to the shift, again unless it is a verifiable emergency, you will no longer receive the 20% member discount until that canceled shift has been made up.

With the ever-increasing business at the Co-op, it is very important that everyone stays on top of their busy schedules and works the shifts you’ve committed to so that we can provide our growing customer base with the quality, timely service they expect and that we cooperatively provide!
