Mother Nature hasn’t wanted to let go of winter quite

yet, but the weather isn’t stopping or discouraging our

athletes from participating in Spring sports. As the sun

finally shows it’s brighter side, we encourage everyone

to get out and support our teams. Each athlete works

very hard to prepare themselves to compete. Whether

it’s a team effort or an individual sport, our kids always

do their best to represent themselves and the Hamilton

Hawkeye community.

This past February, we held our inaugural Booster banquet. We had a fantastic time hosting

the event and hope that everyone who attended did as well. With year one in the books,

we’re already looking ahead to next February for Booster Banquet #2! Check out pages 9

and 10 for info about our first event and a reminder to save the date for next year’s banquet.

More info will come in the following months on how you can be a part of it by either donating

items, sponsoring the event, or attending the dinner and spending the evening with us.

We’re always in need of help at the concession stands too, so if you’re available to work some

events, please sign up through the school’s WISH site, or see one of the boosters and we’ll be

glad to have your help! Have a great spring, and as always, GO HAWKEYES!

We started planning the Booster Banquet almost a year ago, trying to come up with an event that would not only be

a good fundraiser for the Athletic Boosters, but something enjoyable that we could get the whole community involved

in. It took us a while to get the details worked out and to spread the word about our plans, but we made it happen. As

the time went by, we set modest goals for the event. Our hopes were to have somewhere in the neighborhood of 100

guests to join us for dinner and make a profit of $5,000 in the process. We’re extremely pleased to announce that

you’ve helped to double our expectations! We had 180 guests for dinner, and after all expenses were accounted for, we

made just over $10,000!!!

We have a fantastic group of individuals and companies that donated not only cash through sponsorships, but offered

us gift certificates and other items which were given as door prizes or raffled off to increase the profitability of our

event. Those individuals and companies, along with all of the Hawkeye family who came out to have dinner and

support our cause is a testament to the strength of the Hamilton community. As we take a look back on our first

Booster Banquet, there are many things that come to mind. One word in particular which is in many memories of that

night is support.

With the money raised from this year’s event, the Boosters will be able to continue to do our part in helping out our

student athletes. Whether our funds are used to purchase training equipment, updating old uniforms, purchasing

software to help the coaches and players communicate better, updating the school banners for our accomplishments, or

providing scholarships, the Boosters are here to help. However, the success of our organization is directly dependent

on the support we receive from our community and we thank you for being a part of it! We appreciate your help in

making this year’s Booster Banquet a huge success and hope that you’ll join us again next year as we continue to support

Hamilton Athletics.
