Crave the Wave 2016
Currently the Second Year for this event with minor refinements
In this event competitors must demonstrate knowledge and processing skills needed to solve problems and answer questions regarding all types of waves.
This event must involve test type questions and hands-on activities.
Hands-on-tasks (practical portion): 25-50%
Questions (theoretical portion): 50-75%
No single question may count for more than 10% of the score. Hopefully the test will have a large number of questions.
A Team of up to two students may bring:
Writing utensils, protractors, rulers, any type of calculators (No Phones)
Reference materials: Anything! This event covers a lot of possibilities.
All reference materials must be secured in a 3-ring binder, so that regardless of orientation nothing can or will fall out!
Event Supervisors:
May provide: Mathematical Relationships.
Be sure that you understand the difference between may and must. If it says may, make sure that you are prepared with the necessary equations in your reference materials. If it says must, then the supervisor is required to provide whatever is listed.
Event Supervisors:
Must provide at least one task or question from each of the following areas:Regional (R) at RegionsState (S) at State TournamentNational (N) at Nationals

Reminders
Sample Stations
These are just samples! Some students seem to think that this is ALL they have to study. There is a lot of material that we just listed!
Scoring:
Points are awarded for the accuracy and quality of the responses.
High score wins!
Ties: Must be broken by pre-selected questions.
