Geographic information

The Drôme valley and the Diois are built all around the river Drôme. They are part of the drôme, a department divided into 5 parts .

The principal cities are Crest and Die. The area is divided into 10 cantons which each have a capital city. The Diois is situated in the east of the department in the mountains. The Drôme valley is close to the Rhône, the great river of the region. The agriculture is very developed in the area, principally vine-growing.
