ILM Qualifications in Team Leading

The qualifications in Team Leading delivered by the Institute of

Leadership and Management, one of the most recognised qualifications

in the UK. It aims to give practising or potential teams and cell leaders

the foundation for their formal development in this role. The programme

has two primary objectives:

• To assist participants in gaining the basic knowledge required by a

team/cell leader

• To develop basic team leading skills

Award in Team LeadingThe Award is aimed at those who work as part of

a team or are team leaders. Units covered by the

Award are:

• Developing yourself as a team leader

• Motivating the work team to perform

• Dealing with change in the workplace

Successful candidates may progress to the

Certificate in Team Leading.

The Certificate is aimed at those professionals who

currently have some experience as team leaders, or

are aiming at taking a future leading position where

they have to lead teams towards achieving certain

targets. Units covered by the Certificate are:

• Developing yourself as a team leader *

• Motivating the work team to perform *

• Dealing with change in the workplace *

• Planning & Monitoring work

• Developing the work team

• Fulfilling Customer requirements

• Using Information to solve problems

effectively

• Communicating with people outside the work

team

• Briefing the work team

• Workplace communication

Certificate in Team Leading

* Candidates can progress to Certificate in Team Leading on completion of the Award in Team Leading. Candidates

will be assessed and taught only the top up units for Certificate in Team Leading

(LMS).

Through a special log-in user name and password, learners have access to the

Entry RequirementsParticipants will normally be a part of a practising

or aspiring team or cell leaders. There are no

formal educational requirements but its advisable

for learners to have a background that will enable

them to benefit from the programme.

ILM MembershipSuccessful completion of the Award and

Certificate in Team Leading provides eligility for
