IMT-2020 (FIFTH GENERATION) - USER EQUIPMENT
This technical code specifies the minimum requirement for
User Equipment (UE) that is intended for use in connection with
IMT-2020 public mobile telecommunications service in
Malaysia. The UE may include, but not limited to, cellular
mobile terminals, handheld, portable and vehicle-mounted
equipment, and Radio Frequency (RF) interface cards and
modems.
This Technical Code applies to IMT-2020 (Fifth Generation) 5G
UE based on the following technologies as specified in the
following documents:
a) MTSFB2002R0
b) IR.92 (at least V13.0)

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS (1/2)
• Power Supply
• AC adaptor operating voltage 240V +5% -10% and frequency 50Hz ± 1%
• In accordance to MS 406 or MS IEC 60038
• Adaptor shall be pre-approved by relevant Regulatory Body
Specify the requirements for the following items:
• Power Supply Cord & Mains Plug
• In line with requirements by Suruhanjaya Tenaga
• Power supply cord conformance:
i. PVC insulated - flexible cord = MS 2112-5 or BS 50525-2-11 or IEC 60227-5
ii. Rubber insulated – flexible cord = MS 2127-4 or IEC 60245-1
• Mains plug conformance:
i. 13A fused plug = MS 589-1 or BS 1363
ii. 15A fused plug = MS 1577
iii. Flat non-rewireable 2-pole plug = MS 1578 or BS EN 50075

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS (2/2)
• Keypad
• Shall be alphanumeric and relationship between letters and digits
shall comply to items 2.2, 3.1.1 and 3.6 of ITU-T E.161(02/2001)
Specify the requirements for the following items:
• Interoperability & Connectivity
• Interoperability and connectivity with local network shall be demonstrated
• Marking
• Marking on equipment shall contain the following information:
i. Supplier/manufacturer’s name or identification mark,
ii. Supplier/manufacturer’s model or type reference, and
iii. Other markings as required by relevant standard
• Shall be legible, indelible and readily visible
• Shall have marking in either Bahasa Melayu or English

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS (1/4)
• RADIO FREQUENCY• 5G UE shall operate within the following frequency bands:
• In addition, 5G UE may operate in other existing bands identified
in Malaysian IMT systems
• 5G UE is recommended to support both NSA and SA mode

• Standard conformance(one or more):
i. 3GPP TS 38.101-1 Release 15;
ii. ETSI TS 138 101-1, -2, and/or -3;
iii. ETSI TS 138 521-1, -2 and/or -3; and/or
iv. ETSI EN 301 908-25 (draft)
For Voice over NR (VoNR) or V05G, shall comply to the
requirements of IR.92 (at elast version 13)
• If the 5G UE support other technologies, shall meet the respective
Technical Codes or Class Assignments

i. EN 301 489-1; or
ii. EN 301 489-52
• For mobile phones, its adaptor shall comply with:
i. EN 301 489-34; or
ii. Any equivalent standard
