March 26, 2020

We had a good group – 89 nominations - of “You Caught My Eye” awardees this month. MHC 34 MPC/MDS 17 MWC 38

No matter who is picked as those to highlight each month, I want every awardee to know that just by being recognized you are a winner. While going through the nominations, I am constantly impressed by the many aspects of the cultural attributes that make Marklund such a special place. Thanks again to those who take the time to recognize your fellow staff member. Each of you are to be commended as well. Marklund really has an amazing staff and each of you help me to get a small glimpse into just how amazing our staff is. As I go through the cards each month, I not only notice the names of those being recognized but I also make a special note of those who make the nomina-tion. The first person selected is Kayla Atkins. She is a PSP at the Marklund Wasmond Center. She had three nominations. She was nominated for how she regularly goes the “extra mile” in providing ex-cellent care to the residents and how she is always willing to help her fellow staff. She was also recog-nized for going to the hospital, after her shift, to see a resident and deliver a spare trach. While there, she took the time to give the resident a bed bath and reposition. Kayla is recognized for her attitude, compassion and teamwork. The next person is Paul Pasano. He is a Therapy Aide at the Marklund Hyde Center. He also received three nominations. He was nominated for how he is a great “team player.” In another, he was com-mended for “jumping in” and helping out in a CDS classroom that was short staffed. He was recog-nized for coming into one of the CDS classrooms during his lunch to make sure there were enough staff to change the residents. Paul is recognized for his accountability, compassion, and teamwork. Congratulations to all but a special commendation to Kayla Atkins and Paul Pasano. Gil
