IMPLANTOLOGY:SURGICAL AND PROSTHETIC TREATMENT Enhance your skills in extraction, guided bone and soft tissue regeneration, and implant placement to support many types of fixture­assisted dental restorations, including screw­retained and cemented, fixed, and removable restorations. Learn to photograph and properly document cases. In addition to clinical treatment, you will attend group study sessions where you will observe and present case evaluations, as well as be exposed to didactic lectures presented by seasoned clinicians who are on the cutting edge of implant surgery and restorations. You will have the opportunity to bring cases from your private office for review and discussion. This program is clinically oriented and focuses on treatment planning. This is not a lecture course. General lectures are included to supplement your knowledge. However, participants are expected to understand the academic aspects of implant dentistry prior to enrollment. The goal of this course is to provide you with a basic skill set in a unique setting, which will ultimately be a means of increasing production in your private office.

WHO IS THIS PROGRAM DESIGNED FOR? General practitioners who want the foundational skills and knowledge to treatment plan and perform surgical & prosthetic implant procedures.

WHAT IS THE LENGTH OF THE PROGRAM? The program is 2 years, from September 2018 – June 2020, based on the academic calendar. This allows enough time for you to follow a patient through every stage of treatment from consultation to post­surgical care. You will learn how to manage implant complications to ensure long­term success — something short­term programs cannot prepare you for. 

WHEN DOES THE PROGRAM MEET? There are 5 sections to choose from across Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. (See reverse side.)

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN & DO: • Treatment plan using CT, Simplant, and Nobel Clinician software (You will receive

one Simplant license for your personal laptop for the duration of the program) • Diagnose and perform patient work­up with experienced faculty • Case presentations• Textbook & literature review with weekly quizzes • Non­treatment extractions • Socket preservation grafting • Implant placement & 2nd stage surgeries • Guided tissue regeneration • Fixed & removable implant prosthetics

ARE PATIENTS PROVIDED? Yes. The NYUCD Linhart Continuing Dental Education Program will provide four (4) patients for each participant for both surgical and prosthetic dental implant treatment.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUPPLY? Participants are required to purchase the course textbook (approx. $200) and supply a laptop computer with windows or windows partition software for case presentations.

NEW YORK STATE DENTAL LICENSE You will need a New York State dental license in order to treat patients. Contact us for further details if necessary. You will need a full license, not a “limited permit.”

HOW MUCH DOES THE PROGRAM COST? For the 2018­2020 program, the tuition is $14,300 annually ($28,600 over the 2­year period). There is also an additional one­time registration fee of $950. Payment schedule per year is as follows: First Payment $4,900 Due June 1 Second Payment $4,700 Due December 1 Third Payment $4,700 Due March 1

CREDIT  HOURS: 200 annually This course satisfies the continuing implant education hours requirement for Fellowship, Mastership, and/or Diplomate status in the ICOI.
