2017 Mississippi Nurses’ Association Annual Convention

Nursing Colleagues:

On behalf of the Mississippi Nurses’ Association’s Board of Directors, I am honored to welcome you to the Mississippi Nurses’ Association’s 106th Annual Convention, Explore, Ignite, Excel: The Power of Nursing! I know you’ll enjoy joining with your colleagues from across the State of Mississippi and our surrounding states as you experience this much-anticipated event!

Clinical, leadership, workshops, and trending topics – the Convention offers a plethora of continuing education sessions from which to select. Take time to connect with our numerous exhibitors during the extensive Exhibitors Expo featuring the latest in products and services. Don’t miss an opportunity to network with your colleagues at the University of Mississippi Medical

Center School of Nursing Alumni Reception for alumni and friends on Wednesday evening. On Thursday evening, the Bringing the 70s Back: PAC Party will give you a chance to network, hear the best in Motown and Disco, and have a great time while you support the MNA PAC. Feel free to show off your best 70s style and you might just be the “Coolest” (best dressed in 70s style).

The House of Delegates is a key component of Convention. The decisions of the House of Delegates will be instrumental in determining the strategic direction of MNA. This year’s House of Delegates will convene on Wednesday, October 18th to elect four MNA Board positions: President; Treasurer; Director, Council on Nursing Education; and Director, Council on Organizational Affairs along with three members for the Committee on Nominations. The House of Delegates is important to MNA and to the advancement of the nursing profession. I commend all the MNA members serving in the House of Delegates.

I look forward to getting to know you better during Convention and again, thank you for being a part of this extraordinary event!

Sincerely,

Debra Allen, MSN, RN PresidentMNA Board of Directors
