Ironman Triathlon Comes To Long Island!!! Race date ‒ June 1, 2014 Early registration - opens on Active.com on May 30, 2013, registration fee is $900 Course - check out one of the most unique courses in all the Ironman events: Swim ‒ 2.5 miles at beautiful Jones Beach. Its in the Atlantic Ocean, not the Hudson or Peconic Rivers. Transition to the bike at the parking lot at the Jones Beach Theatre Bike ‒ 112 miles, starting up the Meadowbrook Parkway, take Sunrise Highway, route 27, east all the way to Montauk, where you will transition at the Montauk Point Lighthouse! Run ‒ 26 miles, leave the parking lot at the Lighthouse, and proceed on a beautiful scenic route on Long Island’s east end on the south fork, ending up back at the Lighthouse! Transportation will be provided back to Jones Beach. Snacks will be served on the bus. Long Island delicacies including Lobster and Long Island potatoes will be served, along with Long Island’s favorite brew - Blue Point Beer, and another Long Island favorite, Snapple Iced Tea. Tri Bike Transport will pick up all bikes in Montauk and return them to Jones Beach for you to pickup at the conclusion of the race. Jones Beach transition open 24 hours. Volunteers needed!
