    3.3 NE Software Management

    WOFD-110100

    Function: NE Software Management

    Description:

The ASN-GW supports the following functions:

l Software downloading from EMS to NE

When the software is downloaded to the standby area of NE, the current version is not covered. Thedownloading progress is initiatively reported by the NE.

    l Software activation

The active and standby areas are automatically switched.

    l Software version query

l Downloads of the patches and data from the EMS to the NEs

The BS supports the following functions:

    l Bulk NEs upgrade

l Software downloading from EMS to NE

When the software is downloaded to the standby area, the current version is not covered. Thedownloading progress is initiatively reported by the NE.

    l Software activation

The active and standby areas are automatically switched .

    l Software version query

    Service benefits:

    To the operator:

This function lowers the maintenance cost of the operators. The maintenance staffs do nothave to transfer the file to NE one by one or copy the software on the LMT of NE. It savesupgrading work and time at the same time lowers the possibility of man-made error.
