Page 1 of 3 The International Life Sciences Institute (ILSI) The International Life Sciences Institute (ILSI) is a non-profit, worldwide foundation based in Washington, DC, USA. It was established in 1978 to advance the understanding of scientific issues relating to nutrition, food safety, toxicology, risk assessment and the environment. ILSI accomplishes its work through its Branches and the ILSI Research Foundation. Established in 1993, ILSI Southeast Asia Region (ILSI SEA Region) facilitates and coordinates scientific programmes, research and information dissemination in ASEAN, Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands. By bringing together scientists from academia, government, industry and the public sector, ILSI seeks a balanced approach to solving problems of common concern for the well-being of the general public. ILSI receives financial support from industry, governments and foundations. About ILSI Malaysia Country Committee ILSI Malaysia Country Committee was established in November 2005 under the purview of ILSI SEA Region, currently with 15 corporate company members. This was to enable closer rapport among the key stakeholders in food safety and nutrition in the country as well as to identify local issues for discussion. A local agenda can then be developed and activities carried out with the collaboration of members of ILSI, academia and government agencies. Coordinator of ILSI Malaysia Country Committee Dr Tee E Siong, nutrition consultant for TES Nutrihealth Strategic Consultancy is the coordinator of ILSI Malaysia Country Committee. Scientific Advisors of ILSI Malaysia Country Committee Emeritus Prof Dr Khor Geok Lin is the scientific advisor for the ILSI Malaysia Country Committee.
